Abstract

"AVALIAçãO DE CONTAMINANTES PARTICULADOS" Um componente é lavado com um fluido a fim de liberar o contaminante particulado. O fluido contendo partículas é passado através de uma peneira (22) que possui um número conhecido de aberturas de tamanho conhecido idêntico. A mudança na pressão causada pelo acúmulo de partículas na peneira é medida e comparada com a pressão quando a peneira está limpa. A partir daí, um sistema de controle (54) determina o número de partículas no fluido que possuem um tamanho superior ao tamanho da abertura. Isso é relacionado a um volume de unidade pela medição do volume do fluido de passagem através da peneira (22). Se a peneira se encontrar obstruída antes de todo o fluido ter passado através da peneira (22), o fluido é pulsado em um fluxo de avanço e retrocesso para redistribuir as partículas na peneira. O fluido é então lavado para fora da peneira para uma segunda peneira (28) que possui um número conhecido de aberturas de tamanho idêntico. O número de partículas por volume de unidade que possuem um tamanho superior ao tamanho das aberturas da segunde peneira é então determinado. Se a segunda peneira (28) for obstruída, a segunda peneira (28) é pulsada e o fluido é lavado para uma terceira peneira (32) que possui um número de aberturas conhecido de tamanho idêntico. O número de partículas por volume de unidade possuindo um tamanho superior ao tamanho da terceira peneira (38) é então determinado. Esses valores são exibidos pelo sistema de controle (54).
