Abstract

métodos para controle de infestações de pulgas e carrapatos em mamíferos. a presente invenção refere-se a um material ativo que é oralmente administrado a um mamífero substancialmente diariamente, o qual eventualmente aumenta a concentração do material ativo no sangue de um mamífero para uma quantidade eficaz para controlar uma infestação por pulgas e/ou carrapatos do mamífero. a administração oral é então descontinuada por um período de tempo de pelo menos um dia, embora a concentração de material ativo no sangue do mamífero permaneça suficientemente alta para controlar a infestação por pulgas e/ou carrapatos. o período de tempo pode ser de três dias ou sete dias. após o período de tempo ter decorrido, administração de doses substancialmente diárias pode ser retomada para continuar mantendo a concentração de material ativo no sangue do mamífero em uma quantidade eficaz para controlar a infestação por pulgas e/ou carrapatos. a descontinuação da administração oral pode ocorrer várias vezes durante o curso de um mês ou mais. é também divulgado um método para estabelecimento de um regime para administração de um material ativo para controle de infestações de pulgas e/ou carrapatos em um mamífero usando uma dosagem que é reduzida da dose do rótulo por um período de tempo correspondente.
