Abstract
a presente divulgação insere-se no campo de melhoramento vegetal. a divulgação fornece métodos para o melhoramento de plantas de algodão tendo uma característica staygreen usando seleção assistida por marcador. a divulgação fornece ainda um germoplasma que permanece verde em alto estresse por seca e fornece uma vantagem de rendimento em relação ao germoplasma não staygreen. a divulgação também fornece marcadores genéticos associados a qtls staygreen para introgredir esses qtls em germoplasmas de elite em um programa de melhoramento e produzir novos germoplasmas de algodão que desempenham melhor em condições limitadas de água.
