Abstract
a presente invenção fornece uma bactéria carboxidotrófica, acetogênica recombinante que não tem álcool desidrogenase secundária ou compreende umo álcool desidrogenase secundária inativada. o álcool desidrogenase secundária inativada pode ser codificada por um gene de álcool desidrogenase secundária que compreende uma mutação de inativação que reduz a capacidade da bactéria de converter acetona em isopropanol e de converter metil etil cetona em 2-butanol. visto que uma bactéria que não tem álcool desidrogenase secundária ou compreende umo álcool desidrogenase secundária inativada acumula compostos que contêm carbonila, a invenção fornece também um método de produzir compostos que contêm carbonila, tais como acetona e metil etil cetona.
