resumo patente de invenção: "atuador eletromagnético para uma embreagem bidirecional". trata-se de uma embreagem bidirecional que é fornecida com membros interno e externo dispostos ao redor de um eixo geométrico giratório. uma ou mais linguetas são acopladas a um dos membros e configuradas para rotação ao redor de eixos geométricos giratórios separados. uma extremidade de cada lingueta se move entre as primeira e segunda posições de engate com superfícies de engate correspondentes, formadas no outro membro, e uma posição de desengate com o outro membro que permite a rotação relativa dos membros interno e externo. um par de ímãs é disposto na extremidade oposta de cada lingueta, sendo que cada ímã no par define um polo adjacente à extremidade da lingueta e os polos têm polaridade oposta. um atuador eletromagnético gera seletivamente campos eletromagnéticos de polaridades diferentes para impelir as linguetas para fora da posição de desengate até uma das posições de engate, para causar a rotação do outro membro, em qualquer uma das direções giratórias.
