resumo patente de invenção: "métodos para regular o metabolismo de nitrogênio durante a produção de etanol a partir de milho por cepas de leveduras metabolicamente modificadas geneticamente". a presente invenção refere-se a um mecanismo para reduzir a produção de glicerol e aumentar a utilização de nitrogênio e a produção de etanol de micro-organismos recombinantes. um aspecto desta invenção refere-se a cepas de s. cerevisiae com produtividade de glicerol reduzida para proporcionar um benefício cinético a partir da maior concentração de nitrogênio sem sacrificar o rendimento de etanol. um segundo aspecto da invenção refere-se a modificações metabólicas resultando no transporte e/ou metabolismo intracelular alterados das fontes de nitrogênio presentes em massa de milho.
