resumo patente de invenção: "sistemas e métodos para detecção de hospedeiro de capacidade de notificação assíncrona de usb". a presente invenção refere-se a sistemas e métodos para detectar dispositivos de armazenamento pré-existentes que podem falsamente e/ou incorretamente reportar para os sistemas hospedeiros que estes têm uma mídia removível. tal reporte falso ou incorreto pode fazer com que o sistema hospedeiro periodicamente interrogue o dispositivo de armazenamento quanto a se o dispositivo está pronto para processamento de i/o. tal polling seria desnecessária e representa um desperdício de energia dispendida pelo sistema hospedeiro. em uma modalidade, o presente sistema pode implementar processos que periodicamente interrogam a mídia de armazenamento e atualizam um banco de dados. o banco de dados seria uma listagem de dispositivos de armazenamento que indica se estes verdadeiramente têm uma mídia removível ou falsamente reportam que estes têm uma mídia removível. em outra modalidade, o presente sistema pode aplicar algum teste heurístico para determinar se um dispositivo de armazenamento assim falsamente indica uma mídia removível. em outra modalidade, um serviço de telemetria pode ser utilizado por um grupo de hospedeiros para compartilhar dados referentes a tais dispositivos de armazenamento.
