resumo “tratamento químico para melhorar a separação de lama vermelha e lavagem no processo de bayer” a invenção fornece métodos e composições para melhorar a reologia de lama vermelha removida da solução do processo de bayer. o método inclui a adição de um floculante e de um polissacarídeo reticulado à solução. esta combinação separa a lama vermelha da solução, mas também evita que a lama vermelha se torne demasiadamente espessa. evitando-se espessura excessiva, o método permite a formação de quantidades extremamente densas de lama vermelha mesmo em sedimentadores primários porque a lama vermelha densa ainda pode escoar. como um resultado um usuário pode apresentar simultaneamente tanto uma fácil manipulação da lama vermelha como também altas taxas de recuperação de alumina valiosa e de cáustico provenientes da lama vermelha.
