Abstract

PROPAGAÇÃO DE CONTADOR DE REFERÊNCIA. A presente invenção refere-se a métodos e sistemas para rastrear instâncias de objetos armazenados em uma pluralidade de nós de rede, rastreamento este que permite uma determinação global de quando um objeto não tem nenhuma referência por todos os nós em rede e pode ser desalocado com segurança. De acordo com um aspecto da invenção, cada nó tem um armazenamento local de objetos para rastrear e opcionalmente armazenar objetos no nó, e os armazenamentos locais de objetos compartilham coletivamente a instância armazenada localmente dos objetos por toda a rede. Uma ou mais aplicações, por exemplo, um sistema de arquivos e/ou um sistema de armazenamento, usa(m) os armazenamentos locais de objetos para armazenar todos os dados persistentes da aplicação como objetos.
