7 -(alquen-1'-l)-2h-benzo[b][1,4]dioxepin-3(4h)-onas e seu uso em aplicações de fragância. a presente invenção refere-se a um composto da fórmula (i) em que r¹ é h ou metila, r² é h, metila ou etila, r³ e r~ 4~ são, independentemente, hidrogênio, metila, etila, n-propila ou isopropila, e as linhas pontilhadas representam as possibilidades alternativas de estarem presentes ou como uma dupla ligação adicional ou como um grupo r~ 5~ adicional, que é h ou metila. os compostos possuem um odor marinho com caráter doce, e são úteis em fragâncias finas e funcionais.
