"método para codificar e decodificar bloco de imagens" a invenção refere-se a um método para codificar um bloco de pixels que compreende as etapas seguintes: - determinar (10), para cada pixel do bloco atual, um pixel de predição pelo estabelecimento de limite, com um valor de limite atual, de coeficiente resultantes de uma transformação aplicada a uma janela que cobre pelo menos o pixel do bloco atual e por transformação inversa aplicada aos coeficientes de limite, - extrair (12) do bloco atual um bloco de predição formado por pixels de predição, de modo a se gerar um bloco residual, e - codificar (14) o bloco resídual. de acordo com a invenção, o valor de limite atual é determinado ou codificado a partir dos pixels reconstruídos vizinhos do bloco atual.
