“MEMBRO COMPÓSITO E MÉTODO DE FORMAÇÃO DE UM MEMBRO COMPÓSITO” Antecedentes da Invenção [001] As realizações da presente invenção referem-se a um membro compósito.
[002] Em particular, a mesma se refere a um membro compósito que compreende um primeiro e um segundo elementos compósitos alongados, sendo que cada um tem uma extremidade em formato de cunha com uma superfície de extremidade afunilada complementar; pelo menos um dos componentes é formado de uma pilha de laminados de fibra impregnados em resina, sendo que a superfície de extremidade afunilada é formada por cada camada de fibra que se estende longitudinalmente de modo progressivo mais do que a camada adjacente em direção à extremidade fina da cunha, em que as camadas de fibra têm a maior extensão longitudinal; os componentes são ligados em suas extremidades afuniladas por um adesivo.
[003] Tal membro compósito é revelado no documento WO 2012/004571. Esse documento revela uma junta de “chanfro duplo” que pode ligar as duas seções de mesa de longarina de componentes adjacentes de uma pá de turbina eólica. Essas mesas de longarina podem tanto ser ligadas “in situ”, permitindo que pás de turbina eólica grandes sejam montadas em proximidade a seu ponto de uso. Alternativamente, o mesmo revela um método de ligar os componentes de mesa de longarina no ambiente de fábrica. Em uma realização, as juntas de mesa de longarina de chanfro duplo são altamente benéficas. As mesmas permitem que pás de turbina eólica sejam feitas de vários pequenos componentes que são montados em subconjuntos mais complexos. As mesmas também permitem que os subconjuntos sejam ligados entre si de modo simples e firme potencialmente em um ambiente fora de fábrica de uma maneira que não aumente significativamente a massa parasítica da junta.
Breve Descrição Resumida da Invenção [004] A presente invenção se refere a um aprimoramento de tal junta. O conceito tem aplicação mais ampla a outros campos além de mesas de longarina de pá de turbina eólica em que uma junta firme é necessária entre dois componentes compósitos alongados.
[005] Um recurso importante de uma junta chanfrada é o “ângulo de chanfro”. Essa é a inclinação angular da superfície inclinada que forma a superfície de junta. Se o ângulo é relativamente íngreme, a distância longitudinal entre a terminação de cada pilha de fibras na superfície de junta é pequena, concentrando, assim, a distribuição de tensão sobre um comprimento longitudinal relativamente pequeno. Por outro lado, um ângulo de chanfro que é muito raso pode criar problemas práticos já que a extensão longitudinal da junta chanfrada é significativa. Adicionalmente, tal junta é vulnerável a falha nas extremidades finas dos componentes compósitos, particularmente com adesivos frágeis. Relacionado a isso está o problema potencial de inanição de resina. Isso é ocasionado pela incapacidade da resina de penetrar suficientemente nas extremidades finas de tal modo que as fibras não sejam umedecidas, ou devido ao fato de que a resina flui na direção oposta a essa região durante o processo de cura. Essa inanição de resina pode exacerbar potencialmente os problemas mencionados acima de descascamento nas extremidades finas.
[006] De acordo com a presente invenção, um membro compósito do tipo descrito é caracterizado pelo fato de que as propriedades do material compósito curado de pelo menos um componente e/ou as propriedades do adesivo são diferentes nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha em comparação com o resto da superfície afunilada a fim de reduzir as concentrações de tensão nessa região.
[007] A presente invenção é, portanto, capaz de aprimorar a qualidade da junta visando-se, especificamente, as extremidades finas do componente compósito em que, pelas razões dadas acima, os problemas são maiores. Entretanto, visando-se especificamente essas regiões, os aprimoramentos podem ser obtidos sem aumentar de modo proibitivo o custo da junta.
[008] A concentração de tensão na região de extremidade fina pode ser reduzida pelo aprimoramento da qualidade da junta que leva a uma redução de defeitos e, consequentemente, uma redução em concentração de tensão. Alternativamente, a concentração de tensão pode ser reduzida distribuindo-se a tensão de forma mais uniforme como definido abaixo em relação à camada de folha.
[009] As formas pelas quais as propriedades são diferentes podem ser uma ou mais selecionadas do grupo a seguir: espessura de camada de fibra, volume de fibra/resina, material de fibra, material de resina, espaçamento longitudinal entre camadas de fibra e material adesivo.
[010] Reduzindo-se a espessura de camada de fibra, de modo eficaz com o uso de folhas mais finas nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha, a altura de degrau entre cada camada é reduzida. Por exemplo, um reforço de fibra uniaxial de 600 gsm poderia ser substituído com um reforço de fibra uniaxial de 300 gsm. A medida que a altura de degrau é reduzida, a resistência da junta chanfrada é aprimorada devido ao fato de que as concentrações de tensão nos declives de folha são reduzidas. À medida que a altura de degrau reduz, a superfície de junta chanfrada se torna mais lisa e se aproxima da superfície de junta chanfrada “ideal” (isto é, uma que é nula de quaisquer degraus). A redução de concentrações de tensão em declives de folha é particularmente importante na extremidade fina da cunha em que o tamanho da concentração de tensão em relação à espessura das camadas de fibra é maior. Se há um defeito na extremidade da camada de fibra, o mesmo tem menos impacto para folhas mais finas. O ângulo de chanfro pode ser mantido aumentando-se o número de degraus e reduzindo-se a espessura de degrau.
[011] Também é possível mudar o ângulo de chanfro na extremidade fina aumentando-se o comprimento de degrau (isto é, a distância longitudinal entre degraus). Mudar o ângulo de chanfro na extremidade fina pode proteger contra falha na extremidade fina da cunha, particularmente quando materiais com diferentes graus de rigidez são ligados.
[012] A razão de volume de fibra/resina pode ser ajustada a fim de solucionar o problema de inanição de resina. O teor de resina das folhas na extremidade fina da cunha pode ser aumentado localmente. Isso reduz a probabilidade de fibras secas e as propriedades mecânicas reduzidas associadas que aprimoram a qualidade reduzindo-se os defeitos.
[013] Os diferentes materiais nas extremidades finas podem ser personalizados para reduzir as concentrações de tensão. Por exemplo, a rigidez, resistência e robustez das fibras ou da resina podem ser aumentadas em direção à extremidade fina. O uso de diferentes materiais na extremidade fina pode ser projetado para aprimorar falha das superfícies aderidas que podem se tornar o modo de falha dominante. Alternativamente, pode-se simplesmente usar material de qualidade mais alta e de custo mais alto para aprimorar o desempenho. Por exemplo, o módulo longitudinal do compósito pode ser mudado substituindo-se a fibra de carbono de módulo padrão por fibra de carbono de módulo intermediário. Isso pode mudar o módulo longitudinal do compósito de 140 Gpa para 160 Gpa (valores típicos). Outras mudanças nas fibras de carbono podem ser o uso de fibras de módulo diferente (baixa, padrão, alto, ultra-alto), resistências, precursores (PAN, de afastamento, de raiom) ou métodos de tratamento de calor. O tipo de material de fibra também poderia ser mudado com fibras potenciais para a extremidade fina incluindo carbono, vidro (vidro E, vidro S, vidro R), aramida (Kevlar) ou basalto. Os mecanismos de endurecimento podem ser aprimorados modificando-se a união interfacial ou mudando-se as propriedades da matriz e/ou do reforço. A robustez pode ser aprimorada por meio da adição de compostos elastoméricos ou termoplásticos (tais como partículas de borracha) ou material intercamada entre folhas (tais como véus não tecidos leves).
[014] As propriedades de adesivo podem ser mudadas, por exemplo, para usar um adesivo mais dúctil para limitar crescimento de rachadura.
[015] Constituintes adicionais podem ser incluídos no material compósito incluindo partículas, nanomaterial e intercamadas. Uma possibilidade é ter camadas somente de resina intercaladas com camadas compósitas que auxiliam a lidar com a questão de inanição de resina mencionada acima. Os constituintes adicionais podem ser incluídos para aprimorar a robustez do compósito ou fornecer capacidades de auto cura.
[016] O requisito chave é que esses materiais adicionais possam ser usados nas extremidades finas da cunha devido ao fato de que essa é a região crítica para integridade da junta e o gasto adicional associado com quaisquer tais medidas pode ser justificado pelo desempenho aprimorado.
[017] As diferentes propriedades do compósito nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha podem se estender através do comprimento longitudinal total do elemento compósito. Por exemplo, no caso de uma junta de "chanfro duplo” há uma peça de conexão relativamente curta (que representa um dos componentes alongados referidos acima) que se une a uma mesa de longarina. Devido ao fato de que a peça de conexão tem uma extensão longitudinal relativamente curta e tem duas extremidades finas, pode ser mais simples estender o material diferente através do comprimento total da peça de conexão. Alternativamente, as diferentes propriedades podem apenas se estender longitudinalmente por uma distância relativamente curta na direção oposta à extremidade fina de tal modo que não se estendam através do comprimento total do componente compósito. Por fim, a decisão é conduzida por uma análise de custo/benefício em relação a se o custo adicional para aumentar a extensão longitudinal dos diferentes materiais através do comprimento total do elemento compósito é justificado ou se é mais eficaz finalizar o mesmo em uma distância curta na direção oposta à extremidade fina.
[018] No sentido mais amplo, a invenção necessita que apenas um dentre os componentes alongados seja dotado das diferentes propriedades conforme definido acima. Tal disposição pode ser útil se apenas uma extremidade da junta estiver particularmente vulnerável à falha na extremidade fina. Entretanto, mais particularmente, tanto o primeiro quanto o segundo componentes compósitos alongados são dotados de diferentes propriedades, de modo que a junta possa ser acentuada em ambas as extremidades finas.
[019] A presente invenção tem aplicação ampla para ligar quaisquer dois componentes compósitos alongados. Entretanto, mais particularmente, os componentes compósitos alongados são parte da mesa de longarina para uso em uma pá de turbina eólica.
[020] Os componentes alongados podem ser dois elementos de mesa de longarina. Alternativamente, o primeiro componente alongado pode ser um elemento de mesa de longarina e o segundo componente alongado pode ser uma peça de conexão ligada em uma extremidade ao primeiro componente e em uma extremidade oposta a um terceiro componente que é um segundo elemento de mesa de longarina.
[021] De acordo com um segundo aspecto da presente invenção, é fornecido um método para formar um membro compósito de acordo com um primeiro aspecto da presente invenção, sendo que o método compreende a aplicação de adesivo a pelo menos uma das superfícies de extremidade afuniladas, a aproximação das superfícies de extremidade afuniladas e a cura do material compósito e do adesivo.
Breve Descrição das Figuras [022] Um exemplo de um membro e de um método de acordo com a presente invenção será descrito agora com referência aos desenhos anexos, em que: A Figura 1 é um corte transversal de um membro compósito; A Figura 2 é um corte transversal esquemático de parte do membro compósito; A Figura 3 mostra uma implantação da invenção; A Figura 4 mostra os detalhes da implantação da Figura 3; A Figura 5 é similar à Figura 4 que mostra um detalhe de uma segunda implantação; e As Figuras 6A, 6B e 6C mostram variações na implantação da Figura 4.
Descrição Detalhada da Invenção [023] O membro compósito mostrado na Figura 1 é amplamente conforme mostrado no documento WO 2012/004571. A descrição abaixo irá descrever o mesmo como um membro de mesa de longarina para uma pá de turbina eólica. Entretanto, isso representa uma junta entre membros compósitos alongados e, como tal, pode ser aplicado a qualquer uma dessas juntas da mesma forma.
[024] Conforme mostrado na Figura 1, há um primeiro membro de mesa de longarina 1 e um segundo membro de mesa de longarina 2 ligados por uma peça de conexão 3 que tem uma primeira interface de junta 4 com o primeiro membro de mesa de longarina 1 e uma segunda interface de junta 5 com o segundo membro de mesa de longarina 2.
[025] A invenção pode também ser aplicada a uma junta diretamente entre o primeiro e o segundo membros de mesa de longarina sem necessariamente exigir a peça de conexão 3. Neste caso, com referência à Figura 1, a região ocupada pela peça de conexão 3 seria, de modo eficaz, uma parte integral do primeiro membro de mesa de longarina 1 e haveria apenas uma única interface de junta equivalente à primeira interface de junta 5 no ponto em que os dois componentes seriam unidos com o uso da técnica descrita abaixo.
[026] Cada um dentre o primeiro e o segundo membros de mesa de longarina 1, 2 e a peça de conexão 3 é formado de uma pilha de camadas de fibra ou de folhas impregnadas com resina. Alternativamente, o mesmo pode ser formado a partir de um ou mais componentes compósitos pultrudados. A face de extremidade pode ter uma configuração escalonada ou a extremidade pode ser usinada. A peça de conexão 3 pode ser formada como um componente separado que é, então, colocado inteiramente na posição mostrada na Figura 1. Alternativamente, a peça de conexão 3 pode ser construída in situ. Ambas essas alternativas são descritas no documento WO 2012/004571.
[027] Devido à natureza afunilada do primeiro e do segundo membros de mesa de longarina 1, 2, 3, cada um tem uma estrutura em formato de cunha com uma extremidade fina 6. Similarmente, a peça de conexão 3 tem uma configuração afunilada dupla de tal modo que tenha duas extremidades finas 6.
[028] A natureza das extremidades finas é mostrada em mais detalhes na Figura 2. Aqui, se a espessura total do membro compósito é ímáxima, a espessura da extremidade fina é tcrítica em que tcrítica é mais do que 20% de ϊμαχιμα· Essa é a região em que a maioria dos problemas ocorre em uma junta desse tipo. Deve-se observar que não há necessidade de que qualquer um dos aprimoramentos propostos pela invenção se estenda aos 20% totais da espessura. Dependendo da natureza do aprimoramento, pode ser possível que o aprimoramento se estenda a uma extensão maior ou menor. No entanto, o aspecto importante da invenção é que o aprimoramento é focado nessa região de extremidade fina e está ausente de uma parte mais espessa do componente.
[029] Os componentes afunilados podem ser produzidos de uma dentre duas formas. A superfície de extremidade inclinada pode ser criada usinando-se o componente compósito. Entretanto, isso cria desafios práticos já que as superfícies usinadas podem ser difíceis de alinhar e têm tolerâncias de espessura de adesivo insuficientes. Portanto, em uma realização, as superfícies inclinadas são criadas inclinando-se folhas de modo que cada uma se estenda progressivamente mais do que uma camada adjacente para a extremidade fina.
[030] Uma dificuldade com a criação de declives de folha dessa forma é que a terminação de cada camada de fibras é uma fonte potencial de concentração de tensão.
[031] A Figura 3 mostra uma disposição de camadas de fibra para acomodar esse efeito. As camadas de fibra são mostradas na peça de conexão 3, mas será verificado que uma configuração similar, mas invertida, pode também se aplicar ao primeiro e ao segundo membros de mesa de longarina 1,2. Neste caso, as folhas de fibra 7 para a maior parte da espessura da peça de conexão 3 têm uma primeira espessura e as segundas folhas 8 nos arredores da extremidade fina 6 têm uma segunda espessura que é menor do que a primeira espessura. As folhas mais finas 8 se estendem através da largura total da peça de conexão. Isso não precisa necessariamente ser o caso já que, longe das extremidades finas 6, o espaçamento mais próximo é desnecessário. Entretanto, não vale a pena substituir essas folhas mais finas com folhas mais largas dada a natureza curta da peça de conexão 3. Essas considerações são possivelmente diferentes para o primeiro e o segundo membros de mesa de longarina muito mais longos.
[032] A Figura 4 mostra a variação da camada de folha em maiores detalhes. Cada camada representada na Figura 4 mostra uma camada pré-impregnada que compreende uma resina parcialmente curada e uma única camada de fibras que são fibras uniaxiais que se estendem na direção longitudinal. O componente adjacente será dotado de uma superfície complementar invertida. Uma camada de adesivo seria aplicada a uma das superfícies e os dois componentes seriam aproximados e curados.
[033] A Figura 5 mostra uma alternativa para a Figura 4. Neste caso, em vez de reduzir a espessura da folha nos arredores da borda fina, dessa vez o material é diferente. Portanto, as folhas 7 para a maior parte da espessura do componente permanecem as mesmas. Entretanto, as segundas folhas 9 nos arredores da extremidade fina são formadas de um material diferente. Uma possibilidade é formar essas segundas folhas 9 de um pré-impregnado que tem uma fração de volume de resina que está entre 3% e 8% mais alta do que a fração de volume de resina das primeiras folhas 7. Uma fração de volume de resina típica (isto é, a razão do volume da resina para o volume total do compósito) é 30 a 34% e isso seria usado para as primeiras folhas. As segundas folhas teriam uma fração de volume de resina aumentada, tipicamente entre 33% e 42%. Isso reduz a probabilidade de inanição de resina nos arredores da extremidade fina aprimorando assim a qualidade de junta.
[034] Como uma alternativa a ou além da fração de volume de resina aumentada, as propriedades de material entre a primeira 7 e a segunda 8 camadas de folha podem ser acentuadas conforme definido acima.
[035] As Figuras 6A a 6C mostram variações da disposição na Figura 4 em que, em 6A, as segundas folhas 8 têm um espaçamento longitudinal que mantém o mesmo ângulo de chanfro. Na Figura 6B, as segundas folhas 8’ têm um espaçamento longitudinal aumentado a fim de produzir um ângulo de chanfro mais raso nos arredores da extremidade fina, enquanto na Figura 6C, as segundas folhas 8” têm um espaçamento longitudinal axial mais curto a fim de ter um ângulo de chanfro localmente aumentado. Embora essas figuras mostrem variações no espaçamento longitudinal com as folhas mais finas, a variação no espaçamento poderia também ser implantada com folhas de mesma espessura em relação ao restante do componente.
[036] Esta descrição escrita usa exemplos para revelar a invenção, inclusive as realizações preferenciais, e também possibilita que qualquer pessoa versada na técnica pratique a invenção, inclusive produza e use quaisquer dispositivos ou sistemas e execute quaisquer métodos incorporados. O escopo patenteável da invenção é definido pelas reivindicações e pode incluir outros exemplos que ocorram àqueles versados na técnica. Esses outros exemplos são destinados a serem abrangidos pelo escopo das reivindicações se tiverem elementos estruturais não divergentes da linguagem literal das reivindicações, ou se eles incluírem elementos estruturais equivalentes com diferenças insubstanciais a partir das linguagens literais das reivindicações.
Reivindicações
Claims (7)
1. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, caracterizado pelo fato de que compreende: um primeiro elemento compósito alongado; e um segundo elemento compósito alongado; em que cada elemento compósito alongado compreende uma extremidade em formato de cunha com uma superfície de extremidade afunilada complementar; pelo menos um dos componentes é formado de uma pilha de camadas de fibra impregnadas em resina, sendo que a superfície de extremidade afunilada é formada por cada camada de fibra que se estende longitudinalmente de modo progressivo mais do que a camada adjacente em direção a uma extremidade fina da cunha em que as camadas de fibra têm a maior extensão longitudinal; os componentes são ligados em suas extremidades afuniladas por um adesivo; em que as propriedades do material compósito curado do pelo menos um componente e/ou as propriedades do adesivo são diferentes nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha em comparação ao resto da superfície afunilada a fim de reduzir as concentrações de tensão nessa região.
2. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, caracterizado pelo fato de que as propriedades que são diferentes podem ser uma ou mais dentre as selecionadas do grupo a seguir: espessura de camada de fibra, volume de fibra/resina, material de fibra, material de resina, espaçamento longitudinal entre camadas de fibra e material adesivo.
3. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, de acordo com a reivindicação 2, caracterizado pelo fato de que as diferentes propriedades nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha se estendem através do comprimento longitudinal total do elemento compósito.
4. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, caracterizado pelo fato de que as diferentes propriedades nos arredores da extremidade fina da cunha não se estendem através do comprimento longitudinal total do elemento compósito.
5. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, caracterizado pelo fato de que o membro compósito é uma mesa de longarina para uso em uma pá de turbina eólica.
6. MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, de acordo com a reivindicação 5, caracterizado pelo fato de que o primeiro elemento alongado é um elemento de mesa de longarina, o segundo elemento alongado é uma peça de conexão ligada em uma extremidade do primeiro elemento e em uma extremidade oposta a um terceiro elemento que é um segundo elemento de mesa de longarina.
7. MÉTODO DE FORMAÇÃO DE UM MEMBRO COMPÓSITO, conforme definido na reivindicação 1, caracterizado pelo fato de que o método compreende aplicar adesivo a pelo menos uma das superfícies de extremidade afuniladas, aproximar as superfícies de extremidade afuniladas e curar o material compósito e o adesivo.
