Abstract

"ESTAçãO DE ASSINANTE COM CAPACIDADE DE AQUISIçãO DINáMICA DE SERVIçOS MULTIMODO". Descreve-se um sistema para proporcionar capacidade de aquisição dinâmica de serviços multimodo a uma estação de assinante. A estação de assinante é capaz de operar em dois ou mais modos de funcionamento. Uma condição de tempo de varredura é indicada enquanto a estação de assinante estiver operando no modo atual de funcionamento, que tem um estado ativo e um estado inativo. Em resposta a isto, o sistema armazena informações sobre estado para o modo atual de funcionamento e tenta pelo menos uma aquisição parcial de serviços de comunicação de acordo com outro modo de funcionamento. A tentativa de aquisição pelo menos parcial é programada para ser iniciada enquanto a estação de assinante estiver operando no estado inativo no modo atual de funcionamento, e completada antes que a estação de assinante transite de volta ao estado ativo do modo atual de funcionamento. Se a tentativa de aquisição for bem sucedida, a estação de assinante transita para o novo modo de funcionamento, mantendo o registro apropriado. Se mal sucedida, a estação de assinante utiliza as informações sobre estado armazenadas de modo a voltar a operar no modo atual de funcionamento.
