Um método e aparelho para detectar a presença de uma rede local sem fio (WLAN) (104) detecta pelo menos uma flutuação de energia em um sinal de freq³ência de rádio (RF) se propagando em uma faixa de freq³ência de WLAN e indica a presença de uma WLAN (104) em resposta à detecção da pelo menos uma flutuação de energia.
