Abstract

"MULTIMìDIA SOB DEMANDA PARA USO EM UM AMBIENTE PRóXIMO DE SOB DEMANDA". Trata-se de um método e de um sistema para proporcionar multimídia sob demanda em um ambiente próximo de multimídia sob demanda. Segmentos iniciais (310) para cada uma de um conjunto de apresentações que são difundidos em um intervalo periódico (T1 até T0) são gravados anteriormente nos sistemas multimídia de assinante. Cada um dos segmentos iniciais (310) é pelo menos tão longo (L) quanto o intervalo periódico. Em resposta à solicitação de um usuário (502) para performance de uma selecionada das apresentações multimídia, a execução de um segmento inicial correspondente (504) é começada, a gravação de uma apresentação multimídia correspondente (506) para a qual a difusão já começou é começada e a execução é trocada (508) do segmento inicial para a gravação da apresentação difundida quando o conteúdo de execução do segmento inicial correlaciona-se com o conteúdo na gravação da apresentação difundida.
