Abstract

MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PAPA PARTICIONAR MEMóRIA EM DISPOSITIVO DE TELECOMUNICAçãO. Trata-se de um aparelho e um método para Particionar e baixar imagens de memória executáveis em dispositivos de computação ativados a baixa potência constituídos por vários processadores e um modem de estação móvel. O subsistema de computação geral (102) processa tarefas geralmente relacionadas com um assistente digital pessoal (PDA) , assim como ativa o subsistema de computador com modem (104) e um ou mais módulos de memória partilhada (108-110) . O subsistema de computação com modem (104) processa tarefas associadas com um modem de estação móvel. A energia é conservada pela não sincronização do sistema de computador com modem (104) e da memória partilhada (108-110) durante os momentos em que as funções de modem não forem necessárias. Os módulos de memória partilhada (108-110) são carregados com uma imagem de memória binária para uso pelo subsistema de computador com modem (104) a partir de uma memória (222) sob o controle do subsistema de computação geral (102). Quando necessário, o subsistema de computação com modem (104) é ativado de modo a monitorar um canal de paging e desativado quando já não for mais desejável monitorar o canal de paging. Além disto, uma segunda memória partilhada (110) pode ser ativada e usada somente quando o sistema de computação com modem (104) precisar gerenciar um canal de tráfego.
