Abstract
"SISTEMA E MéTODO DE SEGMENTAçãO DE IMAGEM". A presente invenção relaciona-se em geral com sistemas usados para processar imagens. Em particular, a presente invenção é um sistema de segmentação de imagem (16) e método usado para isolar a imagem segmentada (31) de uma pessoa, animal ou objeto alvo de uma imagem ambiente (38) que inclui a pessoa, animal ou objeto alvo, em adição à área (21) ao redor do alvo. A invenção suporta a capacidade de um sistema de desdobramento de airbag para distinguir entre tipos diferentes de ocupantes (18) provendo tais sistemas de desdobramento com uma imagem segmentada do ocupante. A invenção é particularmente útil à noite ou em outros ambientes envolvendo luz inadequada ou sombras indesejáveis. A invenção pode usar histogramas (39) e funções de distribuição acumulativa (52) para executar identificação de limiar de imagem. Erosão morfológica e dilatação podem ser usadas para eliminar "ruído" óptico da imagem. Preenchimento de folga é executado com base na "quantidade de movimento" e "gravidade" de regiões de valores de pixel similares. Uma elipse superior (80) pode ser gerada para representar o torso superior do ocupante (18). A invenção é altamente flexível, e pode ser modificada de acordo com o uso desejado.
