Abstract

"FREIO HIDRODINâMICO". A presente invenção refere-se a um freio hidrodinâmico, que compreende um estator (1) e um rotor (2). O estator (1) e o rotor (2) são instalados coaxialmente um com relação ao outro de modo que os recessos anulares (5, 10) do estator (1) e do rotor (2) formem um espaço toroidal. Um primeiro meio é disposto de modo a ser fornecido ao espaço toroidal para obtenção de uma ação de frenagem durante a rotação do rotor (2). O freio hidrodinâmico compreende vantajosamente pelo menos um elemento de injeção (16, 17), que é disposto de modo a fornecer um segundo meio ao espaço toroidal para reduzir a circulação do ar no espaço toroidal durante períodos de tempo em que nenhuma ação de frenagem é desejada. O segundo meio é fornecido, pelo menos em um local, ao espaço toroidal a uma pressão e em uma direção que vá, pelo menos parcialmente, no sentido da direção de fluxo principal (a) do ar circulante.
