Abstract

"MéTODO PARA A COLETA DE SêMEN DE UM ANIMAL". Um método para coletar e preservar sêmen de vários animais incluindo humanos, caninos, suínos, bovinos, ovinos e outros, envolve coletar o sêmen em um vaso de coleta onde o vaso de coleta é provido com uma solução diluente para o sêmen antes de sua coleta. Além disso, o diluente é preferivelmente mantido em uma temperatura próxima à temperatura do corpo da espécie sendo submetida à coleta durante o período de tempo de sua coleta. O diluente é escolhido para tamponar o pH da amostra de sêmen e para ser isotónico com o sêmen. O volume do diluente no vaso de coleta é preferivelmente escolhido tal que o volume de sêmen seja inicialmente diluído com solução diluente duas vezes seu volume e algum período depois disto a amostra de sêmen diluída é diluída novamente na mesma proporção. A coleta em meio diluente aquecido diminuiu o choque de frio e de pH para os espermatozóides, como mostrado por parâmetros de sêmen melhorados. A solução diluente é preferivelmente rica em íon de cálcio. Um vaso de coleta parecendo um Y invertido é usado para coletar amostras de sêmen distintas para estudo comparativo.
