Abstract

"SISTEMA DE CONTROLE DE TRâNSITO E MéTODO PARA INTERCONECTAR SINAIS DE CONTROLE DE TRâNSITO". A presente invenção demonstra que diodos emissores de luz (LEDs) dispõem de características elétricas que podem ser usadas para reduzir significativamente a complexidade e o custo de equipamentos de sinalização de trânsito necessários para controlar os conjuntos de sinais que indicam o direito de passagem de veículos em uma dada interseção. Isto também melhora as características de economia de energia dos LEDs ao reposicionar a fonte de energia no sistema de controle de sinais de trânsito e os dispositivos de condicionamento elétrico na posição do sinal, aumentando a eficiência energética de toda a interseção. Um benefício é a segurança intrínseca baseada em um método de distribuição de força para os sinais que não permite modos de falhas que poderiam causar acidentes. O sistema garante que seja impossível ter sinais verdes ou amarelos simultâneos em ruas que se cruzam mesmo que tais sinais estejam conectados às mesmas linhas de força, permitindo também o uso de uma, topologia de conexão por barramento com um controle acionado por comando do estado ACESO/APAGADO de cada luz ou sinal individual. Essa'prevenção de conflito de fase' é mais segura e simples que a tecnologia anterior e também elimina a necessidade de um equipamento de monitoração independente, geralmente exigido para evitar tais condições de perigo. Ocorre também uma redução significativa do número de cabos resultando em uma maior simplicidade do controlador devido à capacidade de controlar um número maior de sinais com um mesmo número de condutores elétricos em comparação com a tecnologia anterior.
