A rigid protection, in the form of a circular disc, is provided with a central opening. The circular disc is slidably mounted on the control lever. The disc is provided with a top side that is in free floating contact with the internal surface of the control console housing. The free floating contact is maintained by a spring that extends between the control joint and the bottom side of the disc. The spring presses the guard upwards, so that the top side of the guard is in contact with the printed circuit on the internal surface of the housing, thus covering the control hole. The spring comprises a spiral spring defining an internal cylinder that is aligned with the central opening and through which the control lever extends.
