"PNEU VAZIO COM CAMADA INFERIOR DE MóDULO DUPLO" Um pneu em condição de vazio, de lona radial, de ar comprimido (200) tem uma banda de rodagem (210), uma estrutura de cinta (212), uma carcaça (216), e uma camada inferior (234) disposta entre a estrutura de cinta e a carcaça. A carcaça (216) compreende dois costados (226), dois talões (220) e uma ou mais lonas radiais (222, 224). O pneu (200) é caracterizado pelo fato a camada inferior (234) ter cordonéis de reforço (236) com voltas alinhadas paralelas ao plano equatorial do pneu, os cordonéis (236) apresentando um módulo de elasticidade ("módulo") negligenciável abaixo de um alongamento de limiar e um alto módulo acima do alongamento de limiar. A camada inferior (234) enrijece o pneu durante o funcionamento em condição de vazio, mas não durante o funcionamento inflado normal.
