Abstract
<B>MéTODOS E APARELHOS PARA CARACTERIZAçãO, AJUSTE E OTIMIZAçãO DE REDES SEM FIO<D> Técnicos melhoradas para caracterizar, ajustar e otimizar o desempenho geral de uma rede sem fio. Em uma versão ilustrativa, o desempenho de rede geral para uma configuração de rede em particular é caracterizado por um vetor com dois componentes, um que representa a cobertura da rede e outro que representa a capacidade da rede. A cobertura da rede é definida pela probabilidade de serviço sob carga, incluindo interferência, e pode ser ainda ponderada pela densidade do tráfego. A capacidade da rede é definida por uma quantidade de tráfego com uma dada distribuição que pode ser servida a uma dada taxa de bloqueio alvo geral. O desempenho de rede geral pode ser caracterizado utilizando um diagrama de capacidade/cobertura bidimensional que desenha vetores de desempenho de rede geral cada um deles incluindo um componente de capacidade da rede e um componente de cobertura da rede, para várias configurações de rede. O desempenho de rede geral pode ser melhorado ou otimizado com relação a um dado subconjunto de parâmetros de rede ao utilizar um algoritmo que propõe configurações de rede em potencial e os avalia com relação a seu desempenho de rede geral.
