Abstract
<B>VáLVULA DE PURGA NORMALMENTE ABERTA<D> Uma válvula de purga para expelir contaminantes líquidos de um conduto de fluido, o qual, normalmente, está despressurizado, mas, às vezes, está pressurizado com um gás que contém contaminantes líquidos. Ela tem um alojamento, um diafragma montado no alojamento, uma câmara de controle em um primeiro lado do diafragma, uma passagem de exaustão em um segundo lado do diafragma e uma sede de válvula, que circunda a passagem de exaustão. A sede de válvula é posicionada de modo que o diafragma possa selá-la. Uma mola no segundo lado força o diafragma para fora da sede. Uma câmara anular está no segundo lado do diafragma, circundando a passagem de exaustão. A câmara anular é aberta para a passagem de exaustão, quando o diafragma não estiver assentado na sede de válvula. A válvula tem uma trajetória de fluxo de impedância baixa entre a câmara de controle e o conduto de fluido. A válvula também possui uma trajetória de fluxo de descarga de impedância alta, conectada à câmara anular. A trajetória de fluxo de descarga de impedância alta pode ser conectada à câmara de controle, conectada à trajetória de fluxo de impedância baixa ou ela pode ser para conexão ao conduto de fluido. Quando a válvula estiver conectada ao conduto de fluido, ela estará aberta devido à força de mola, sempre que o conduto de fluido estiver despressurizado, de modo que o contaminante líquido possa drenar da válvula. Quando o conduto de fluido estiver pressurizado, o diafragma será pressionado contra a sede de válvula, de modo que a válvula seja fechada.
