Abstract

Out of ceramic mass one can make products (tiles) with great strength, at the same time they are made lighter by 51% because of their grain structure and can also ôbreatheö, which means that the tiles can gradually dry up after being moistened. Besides the products made possess an increased coefficient of linear heat conductivity (lambda lower than 0, 19} which secures a good heat û and cold-durability of the tiling. At the same time the production technology is of decreased energy consumption because the baking is accomplished at relatively low temperatures û about 1000 degree C. The composition of the ceramic mass is based on porcelain clay, feldspar sand, perlite and glass wastes and, according to the model proposed, contains added wood shavings, so that the ratio of the components is (in weight per cent): clay 31-45 with grains up to 35 microns, half of them of size 100 microns, feldspar sand 11-25, perlite 32-45 with grain size up to 680 microns, glass wastes 14-27 with grain size about 100 micron and wood shavings 1-9. The clay has the following composition: Al2O3 min 25 %, SaO max 0,5%, Fe2O3, Ti2O3, MgO, Na2O and K2O 1,5% each.
