Abstract

The device is used for measuring the passing through of water quantities, as well as the depth of open canals, dams, lakes and slurry ponds. By it universality is attained of the geometrical parameters of the measured project as well as fast and accurate measurement and recording. The device comprises a computation unit and interconnected sensors, one of the latter being assembled in a tube. Each of sensors (4, 5) is calibrated for measuring the height of a water column, the first sensor (4) being fitted before a spillway (2) mounted in the bottom of the open canal (1), and the second sensor (5) is fitted after the spillway (2). Tubes (7) of sensors (4, 5) are fitted close to the wall (3) of the open canal (1). Both sensors (4, 5) are connected to a control module (6), in the flow chart of which two-way connections to a central microprocessor (6.1) are provided in succession, respectively, to a digitalization unit (6.2), to interface (6.3) for manual data collection, to timer (6.4) for real time, to an encoding device (6.5) for a transmitter, to decoding device (6.6) for a receiver, as well as to an energy-independent memory (6.7). The control module (6) has independent storage battery supply (6.9), also providing connections, respectively, to a GSM-module (8) and/or to radio station (9), as well as to the calculation unit in the form of a computer (10) for data processing.
