Abstract

The towboat is used in sailing vessels and it improves the manoeuvre during towing. It comprises a hull on the deck of which a mobile bridge is fitted and devices are mounted for ropes for attachment to a sailing vessel for towing. To the body two Z-propellers (2) close to the periphery of hull (1) of the towboat are fitted, which are separated by a maximum distance. On one of the boards of hull (1), symmetrically to the level of the midship frame pivotal devices are mounted for side contact (5) and a device for front contact (7) to the bow of the towed vessel. On the other board of hull (1), also symmetrically to the plane of the midship frame, pivotal device (5) and device for front contact (8) with the structural elements of the stern of the towed vessel are fitted. Bridge (11) for sailing the towboat and for controlling the towing itself, has a facility for shifting.
