Abstract

The invention concerns a method for electrochemical treatment of an aqueous composition comprising one or several organic substances, using an electrochemical reactor comprising an anode section and a cathode section, said sections being separated by a suitable separator. The invention is characterised in that it consists in introducing said aqueous composition into said electrochemical reactor anode section, said anode section containing a liquid support wherein suspended electrochemically active particles are present and in simultaneously or successively subjecting the medium derived from the introduction of said aqueous composition to an oxidation potential and the action of ultrasounds.
