Abstract

The remote-controlled retractable post or bollard is used to prevent vehicles entering restricted areas etc. e.g. to prevent other than service vehicle entering pedestrian areas. - A cross-carriageway ramp may be provided to locate a post which retracts by pivoting into a pocket to lie flush with the surface. The rotation of the pivot axle may be effected by various motors or a jack and via belts, chain or gear train..(0/13)

Description

"Retractable parking space and / or tread protection" $ 1 The present invention relates to a parking space and / or tread protection intended to be fixed or placed on the ground

so as to prevent any intrusion on any reserved space and / or tread and to retract by means of a remote control by the authorized user (s).

$ 2 There are already selective obstruction systems (barriers, chains, poles, bollards and others) fulfilling this office, but which always require to open the passage, either the intervention of a third person, or the obligation for the user authorized to get out of his vehicle to carry out the operation himself manually.

$ 3 The object of the invention is to provide a selective obstruction system which differs from the above-mentioned systems and / or garage doors with automatic and / or remote controlled openings, by a simple, aesthetic formal design. , and does not significantly alter the environment in which it is located. In addition, this invention allows the free passage of pedestrians, cyclists and the like while prohibiting the crossing by any unauthorized vehicle.

$ 4 The subject of the invention is a concrete threshold (or any other material) placed on the ground across the passage to be protected and in which is

fixed one or more devices maintaining one or more obstacle (s). This obstacle will be called "post" in the description which follows, but this to

purely illustrative title, the invention covering any obstacle, whatever it may be. The post or posts (x) are lowered transversely in a housing provided in the threshold, and this on simple remote control (fig.l). The representative figures and drawings attached to the description of this invention are only shown by way of example of a manufacture applying the principles of this invention. The threshold is variable in height, width and length; it gives by its shape an ascending ramp, a flat, and a descending ramp, or simply two ramps, without flat; a side dish; or an arc of a circle (fig. 2,3,4 and 5).

The height must allow the passage of vehicles without risk of collision of it with the threshold, it must also be able to receive the descent and ascent mechanism of the post (s), the receiver of the remote control, and fully house the post. It is understood that all of these mechanisms and the post (s) can be housed in a housing fixed to one of the ends of the passage threshold. The width adapts, to the manufacture and / or placement, to the size of the location and / or the tread to be protected. The length is the distance between the outer edges of the ramps or the edge, it adapts to the use that will be made of the device.

$ 5 The retractable pole (s) are of variable size, suitable for the use to be made of the device, the materials used will also be adapted to the intended uses. It is the same for the threshold which can be made, for example, of concrete but also of metal, PVC or other.

The pole (s) move on a perpendicular axis placed at the foot (s) of that (those) (fig.6), either by unwinding and winding a cable, a chain , of a strap fixed on one side to the post itself (fig. 7) or to a lug placed on the axis of the post (fig. 8), and fixed on the other side (fig.9) on the motor axis; either by the tilting caused by a jack (fig.10). The motor can also be fixed directly on the axis of the post (fig.ll), or

be coupled to it by a gear (fig. 12) or a belt (fig. 13).

$ 6 A receiver connects the motor to perform the work of lowering or raising the pole (s). This receiver can be induced by radio waves or infra-red or ultrasound, or using an electrical impulse, or a ray of light coming from a transmitter or an interuptor, or from a light source according to the use that will be made of the device.
