Abstract

The coupling is placed between the wishbone (7) and mast (2) of a sail board. It consists of a V shaped piece (8), pivoted (9) on both of the wishbone arms. These hold the mast when sail force acts on the wishbone. The wishbone arms each have seatings (10) which are intended to receive pivots carried by the V shaped part. The V shaped part is covered with a protecting cord of synthetic rubber (13). The seatings are open grooves and sail force prevents the pivots from leaving these grooves.

Description

 <EMI ID=2.1>

  "Connection device between wishbone and windsurf mast" The present invention relates to a connection device between wishbone and windsurf mast.

In general, the head of the wishbone is fixed to the mast using a rope. One end of the latter is fixed to the mast by a capstan knot, which is followed by two dead turns and then by threading through one or more holes provided for this purpose in the head of the wishbone. The other end of the said rope is then either struck on a cleat, or secured in a wedge carried by an arm of the wishbone.

This traditional method of attachment makes it difficult to adjust the height of the boom, which is necessary both in terms of user size and wind conditions.

The present invention aims to provide a solution to this problem. To this end, a connecting device between wishbone and windsurf mast according to the invention consists of a substantially V-shaped element, pivoted on each of the two arms of the wishbone and intended to grip the mast during towing from the listening point of the sail on said wishbone.

For greater clarity, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 schematically shows a windsurfing board and is used to locate the device according to the invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view, on an enlarged scale, of the part indicated in F2 in Figure 1; Figure 3 shows, in perspective, the V-shaped connecting piece constituting the main element of the invention; and FIG. 4 is a plan view of the device shown in FIG. 2.

The windsurfing board shown in FIG. 1 is constituted by a float 1 to which a hinged mast 2 is removably secured around which the sheath 3 of a sail 4 is engaged. The tack point 5. of the sail 4 is stretched on the foot of the mast

a wishbone 7, the other end of which is pivotally connected to the mast 2.

The connection between the wishbone 7 and the mast 2 takes place, con-firmly with the invention, with the intervention of an element 8 substantially in the form of a V, provided with two lateral pins 9. The latter are intended to be each engaged in a groove 10 provided for this purpose in a blocket 11, these blockets being solid

 <EMI ID = 2.1>

The element 8, engaged through the usual notch 12 of the sail 4, is intended to grip the mast when the listening point 6 is tightened on the wishbone 7. This tightening prevents the studs 9 from coming out of the grooves 10.

It is noted that the height of application of the element 8 on the mast 2 can be easily modified according to the size of the pilot and / or the wind conditions.

The element 8 can advantageously be provided with a protective coating 13, for example made of synthetic rubber, Teflon or the like.
