MEMOIRE DESCRIPTIF
CAPTEUR SOLAIRE DE FORME CIRCULAIRE
<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>
<EMI ID=8.1>
<EMI ID=9.1>
rapidement.
<EMI ID=10.1>
"vacuum".
<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=12.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>
<EMI ID=14.1>
DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY
CIRCULAR SHAPE SOLAR COLLECTOR
<EMI ID = 1.1>
Today, we are witnessing a veritable revolution in the energy field. - Oil, a staple energy since the Second World War, has increased in price by more than
<EMI ID = 2.1>
double. However, after the needs of industry and transport, it is home heating that is the most
<EMI ID = 3.1>
the expense begins to become excessive .. "We burn our money!" - says the public for whom the dilemma will become It will freeze or deprive itself ".. But, fortunately, there are
energy resources that we are starting to think seriously about, solar energy in particular, which has the advantage of constantly renewing itself and, therefore, never risking failure.
Also, the purpose of the present invention is to use solar energy to reduce heating costs, while gradually freeing us from the subjugation to the use of these expensive petroleum products.
THE STATE OF THE ART
There are - everyone knows - two kinds of devices
in order to harness solar energy. There are sensors that work with water. These are the most numerous currently. But there are also those who use air as a means of transporting calories.
<EMI ID = 4.1>
And this in spite of the disadvantages which this one also presents, but which the present invention endeavors precisely to remedy? So let's examine the question:
<EMI ID = 5.1>
because it heats up faster, which is very important especially during the bad season when the sun often makes brief appearances.
2) As a heat vehicle, the air is disabled on this
point because it cools faster than water.
However, the present invention specifically relates to a device characterized by its speed of capture of the air as soon as it is hot in order to protect it from its cooling in an interior compartment slightly insulated, hence. heat will be distributed to
<EMI ID = 6.1>
The author of the present invention, aiming above all at ease for the consumer, focused his invention on the air sensor, not because of its theoretical efficiency, but indeed of its practical utility, since it is a system without problems.
The invention therefore relates to an integrated device using thermal energy supplied by the sun's rays for the direct production of heat.
However, the exploitation of solar energy resources being an art still recent, it was considered good to enter here in more details than it is generally customary to do it for a patent application for invention.
In the original device of the present invention,
two parts should be clearly distinguished:
I) outside, above the roof, the solar collector,
2) inside, below the roof, the accessories
of its operation, as well as the storage and distribution of hot air.
The solar collector according to the invention.
With regard to the numbers and letters reproduced on the drawings, let us first of all specify the following:
the figures are identical to the serial numbers of the claims; the letters relate to the explanations given in the description below.
The shape of the sensor is characterized by its circular outline (I), the inventor having considered that this shape made it possible to better follow the path of the sun around the earth and to better capture the oblique rays of the rising or setting sun, as well as the winter sun, when we need heat the most. If figures A and B represent the sensor seen in perspective (A) and seen from above (B), figure C shows a vertical section with the characteristic details
of the invention. First, the dome shape, taking advantage of the upward movement of the air heated by the sun (3), with a view to concentrating it in a single point, thus achieving a kind of "heat bell". In the drawing, the small arrows indicate the upward movement of the air.
The base of the sensor includes: the insulating body and the
heating body.
The insulating body forms the very basis of the sensor (a).
This "substratum" is a layer of insulating material, poor conductor of heat, placed under the active plate
and serving as a support. This insulation mattress can
be made of polyurethane or polyvinyl foam,
one layer or two, one being rigid and the other flexible.
The heating element (b) is the heat generator which transforms the light rays of the sun into hot air.
It is generally made of a thin sheet of steel, copper or aluminum painted black: mat. It could be called "solar thermal radiator".
The "covering" element of the sensor is the velum, that is to say a plastic film, in one piece and sufficiently resistant, serving as a cover for the sensor. A double film
is unnecessary because it is more expensive and, moreover, removes some of the sunlight. (see 4). Compared to glass, the plastic film, being thinner, lets in more light, but its great defect is its lack of rigidity. If it never shatters like glass, it must be well stretched otherwise it flatters and slaps under the gusts of wind,
<EMI ID = 7.1>
plastic, well stretched, better withstands bad weather. According to the invention (see Figures A, B and C), the film is held to prevent floating by stabilizing cables going from the top to the periphery and which alternate, one above, the other below, like a bellows. The dome of the solar collector looks like
an umbrella whose edges, instead of being flat, would be alternately protruding, then tucked in accordion.
The invention is presented as a kind of dome
whose dome is supported inside the sensor
by a frame (5) made up of uprights with feet apart at their base in order to avoid spillage,
these feet being able to approach or move away, as a variant, in order to raise or lower the central sphere
and increase or decrease the slope of the velum and adjust
the tension of the cover film, another variant consisting of a telescopic system having the same effect.
Placed at the top of this frame serving as central support, there is a sphere (7) in lattice to leave
pass air and achievable by means of interlocking spring blades. This elastic sphere is surmounted by a plastic foam cushion on which the film rests
cover. A ring (c) o is attached a cable-vibrator whose shaking will allow the raindrops to slide and ensure the transparency of the canopy. This effect
of vibration will be obtained by a working means,
either manually by pulling a lever, or mechanical-
<EMI ID = 8.1>
The reflector, or solar mirror, advantageously completes
the solar collector, on the one hand by protecting it from the cold north and east winds and, on the other hand, by capturing
the oblique rays of the winter sun and reflecting them towards the sensor. It is shaped like a quarter of a moon, wide in the middle and $ 'slimming at the lateral ends.
Its inclination can be adjusted according to the seasons. (D) The second part of the device according to the invention is
which is under the roof, inside the building.
Through the roof platform (e) is made a 25 cm square opening. side, through which will pass
the nozzle (f) used to suck in the air overheated by the sun and accumulated under the dome of the canopy, and which will be replaced not by cold air from outside, but by air still warm taken up inside of the building and passing through the interval between the round nozzle and the hole oarr .
<EMI ID = 9.1>
quickly. As soon as it is hot, it must therefore be removed from the sensor, the heat being lost quickly on the way. It is therefore necessary that its passage between the sensor
and the insulated plenum tank is as short and fast
as possible. In some areas,
a second fan is necessary, sometimes taking hot air from the plenum to return it to the sensor, in order to melt the snow covering it and restore the transparency of the plastic canopy.
<EMI ID = 10.1>
"vacuum". This heat storage tank contains hot air with a slight overpressure, for example
<EMI ID = 11.1>
to drive it out into the distribution pipes.
In summary, the air which is in the collector, as soon as overheated by solar energy, is immediately sucked
by a thermostatically controlled fan and blown into the plenum. This will be, as best as possible, insulated and waterproof, not letting the air escape.
However, the calories that escape from it in the building are not lost since they would anyway contribute to its heating by mixing with the ambient air. Air leaks, both in the plenum
than in pipelines, more important because they would constitute a drop in pressure, thus harming
the supply of hot air to the required places.
The advantage of the solar collector air on those who use water as a heat transfer element is that the air is dry, hot and above all .. light! Practically, it weighs nothing. Therefore, both the plenum and the ducts
heat distribution, can be made of very light materials provided they are waterproof,
for example in plasticized cardboard, the interior of which would be lined with thin aluminum sheets, as used for packaging and cooking and which, glued
on the cardboard, on the inside, provide reflectivity
<EMI ID = 12.1>
reflective minium on the inner walls of the ducts and plenum is an excellent way to reduce heat loss and extend the duration of use. Thus, the sunny hours will be used
by accumulating heat for cold evenings.
Figure D, according to the drawing, shows a variant of a heat reduced, arranged in the unintended corner of a room in the building. It is the heat reservoir in a triangle.
<EMI ID = 13.1>
hot pulsed by the fan and which then rises in part h which is the tank itself, the heat intake port located under the ceiling. It is through this opening that we can, as and when we can, introduce into compartment h, waste or "scraps" of thin sheet of copper, aluminum or, failing that, steel beforehand twisted into a tendril or corkscrew,
to allow hot air to pass through and which will constitute
an excellent heat accumulator.
Figure E, according to the drawing, shows a variant use of the invention for horticulture.
It is, in this case, a greenhouse of rounded shape
and whose roof serves as a solar collector according to the invention, the walls being made of transparent plastic.
The hot air from the sensor is sent through the nozzle i to
in the J base, covered with pebbles or stones constituting the heat reservoir. This variant of agricultural or horticultural use is very promising. This would, in fact, provide inexpensive hot and dry air, for example, to reduce the drying time by 50 to 75%
grains or other crops when the summer is rainy.
However, given the high interest of the loan of money, any acceleration of sale is payable and profitable
to the community.
In closing, note that for the user of a solar collector, the calories he can get from it do not all have the same value. For him, they are worth ten times more in winter than in summer. However, during the bad season, the sun often shines between two snowfalls or rain showers.
At this point, the sensor must be immediately ready for operation and this is precisely the high quality of
the new conception of this invention. Roughly speaking, the hours of sunshine are estimated, in Belgium, between
1,400 and 1,700 hours per year, but we do not know the distribution between diffuse and direct sunshine. It is therefore difficult, if not impossible, to establish yield hypotheses, especially since there are advantages we can neither quantify nor, however, neglect. Like, for example, the savings possible on the installation. Because, if the sensor with its operating accessories (thermostat, fan and valve) is mounted by a firm or a specialized organization, the interior fittings (plenum and supply ducts) can be made by the user without the help of '' specialized labor, so expensive today.
Other collective advantages plead for a rapid diffusion of the use of solar energy: reduction of
<EMI ID = 14.1>
payments, creating new businesses and, therefore, creating new jobs.
Solar collector characterized by its ROUND, this shape having been chosen to adapt to the orbit described by the sun in the sky,: - the circular periphery being produced in curved or broken lines and the whole having the shape of a full circle or a circle sector.
