<EMI ID=1.1>
la figure 1 est une vue en coupe partielle d'une serrure suivant l'invention ;
The invention relates to a quick fixing lock and more particularly the quick fixing by spring in an opening in a sheet or other support of reduced thickness.
Such types of fixings are highly appreciated by manufacturers of metal furniture or other small items such as ski racks, letter boxes, small boxes, etc. Indeed, their installation no longer requires any tools or other accessory parts.
In the above mentioned types of application it is important to minimize the length of the lock inside the article.
However, existing locks provided with a quick fastening device by spring mounted by a collar on the body of the lock, have the drawback of having a length that is far too great.
<EMI ID = 1.1>
The object of the present invention is to obtain a quick fixing device allowing
considerably reduce the length of the lock extending inwards from the article on which
the lock must be fitted.
Another object is to simplify assembly and consequently to reduce the number of operations involved in the assembly of the various components of the lock.
This object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the lock which is the subject of the invention comprises a fixing spring formed from a ring provided with at least two legs folded obliquely forward, said spring being mounted at the rear end. from the body
of the lock.
According to one embodiment, the spring is held by its ring between the rear end of the body of the lock and the bolt mounted towards the rear end of the cylinder.
In this way the fixing spring and the bolt can be held in place by a single fixing means.
In order to clearly understand the invention, a nonlimiting exemplary embodiment will be described below, with reference to the drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a partial sectional view of a lock according to the invention;
FIGS. 2A and 2B are respectively an elevation view and a plan view of a lock fixing spring according to the invention; Figure 3 is a detail view.
As shown in Figure 1, the lock
consists of a body 10 in which is mounted a cylinder 11 which can be rotated inside the body 10. On the front side 12 of this cylinder
11 is provided an opening for the introduction of a key
13 while towards its rear end, which extends beyond the body 10, the cylinder 11 carries a bolt 14.
According to the invention, a spring
fixing 15 is mounted between the rear end
body 10 and bolt 14.
The spring 15 and the bolt 14 are held in place by a spring ring or circlip 16 introduced into a groove 17 provided at the rear end of the cylinder 11.
The fixing spring 15 is advantageously formed from a ring 18 provided with two tabs 19 folded obliquely forward and slightly twisted along their longitudinal axes.
The ends 22 of the legs 19 are cut at an angle.
When the lock thus described is introduced into an opening provided for this purpose in a sheet 20 (FIG. 3), the bolt 14 is first introduced obliquely, then the lock is straightened and it is pushed fully.
During this action, each tab 19 is folded into a longitudinal cut 21 provided on the cylindrical part of the body 10. The distance between the ends 22 of the tabs 19 and the support collar 23 of the body 10 is such that when the collar 23 comes into contact with the tale
20 the legs 19 are partially released while blocking the lock in place in the opening of the sheet 20 by the contact between the sheet and the ends 22 of the legs 19 cut at an angle (see FIG. 3).
Thanks to the particular shape of the fixing spring 15, it is possible to considerably reduce the length of the assembly.
Another advantage of the invention is that the fixing spring 15 and the bolt 14 are held in place by a single mounting operation, in this case the fitting of the circlip 16.
Of course various modifications can be made by man, from the art to the device which has just been described only by way of nonlimiting example without departing from the scope of the invention.
