The present invention relates to a chimney stack surrounding the upper part
of the chimney pipe protruding from a roof.
In the first known chimneys, the chimney pipe is surrounded by a steel sleeve with the interposition of a layer of thermally insulating material such as mineral wool. The sleeve passes through a gasket consisting of a robust nozzle made of rubber or the like and resting on the elements of the roof. On the other hand, the sleeve carries a galvanized steel bolster for protection against wind and rain. The miter of complex construction surrounds the upper end of the chimney pipe and carries coaxially above this end a biconical deflector of the flue gases.
The first known chimney stumps have the drawback of comprising constituents made of different materials: steel, mineral wool and rubber. In addition, their cost price is therefore relatively high. In addition, their mounting on a roof is not easy because of the fact that their vertical sleeve clamps through their sealing gasket disposed obliquely along the slope of the roof. Finally, in use, the seal may no longer be ensured at the junction between their metal sleeve and their rubber gasket.
In second known chimney stacks, the double-walled chimney pipe extends through a vertical tubular masonry carried by an upper building slab and exceeds this masonry. An asbestos rope stuffing is provided between the chimney pipe and the wall of the slab hole, while a stuffing in a thermally insulating material is inserted above the first between this tubular masonry and this chimney pipe. In addition, a metal cover plate covers the tubular masonry and surrounds the top of the chimney pipe. For this purpose, the cover plate has a lower rim surrounding the upper rim of the tubular masonry without significant play, and an upper rim similarly surrounding the upper part of the chimney pipe.
Finally, a metal bolster is carried by the upper end of the chimney pipe.
The second known chimney stumps have the disadvantage of requiring the construction of tabular masonry on the upper slab of the building. In addition, their constituents are made of different material and are not standardized. In addition, sealing is inefficient between the chimney pipe and their cover plate, which is a welded construction relatively difficult to achieve when the section of the chimney pipe is circular while that of the tubular masonry is square.
The object of the current invention is a new strain of chimney making it possible to remedy the drawbacks and the disadvantages of the aforementioned known cases.

The invention essentially comprises a base, a tube, a connecting piece and a cap.
The base is in the form of a frame consisting of a flange applicable on the rafters or purlins of a roof and by an upper pipe arranged vertically after placement on these rafters or purlins.
The tube has its upper edge perpendicular to its axis and its lower edge sawn according to the slope of the rafters or purlins. The tube is fitted around the upper tubing of the base and secured to this tubing.
The connecting piece is formed by a flat core carried by the upper part of the tube and secured to it, by a lower tubing surrounding the upper part of this tube and by an upper tubing intended to surround and to secure the upper part therein. of the chimney pipe.
The cap is formed by a flat and solid core and by a perforated lower tube surrounding the upper tube of the connecting part and secured to this part.
Preferably, in the new chimney stump, the lower part of the tube is bolted
to the upper manifold of the base.
In addition, in the new chimney stack, the web of the connecting piece is bolted to the upper part of the tube via
<EMI ID = 2.1>
perforated ticale is applied against this upper part of this tube and whose horizontal wing supports this core and carries a vertical pin passing through an opening of the latter.
Furthermore, the opening of the vertical wing of each end of the angle iron or of the L-section is lengthened vertically.
According to other constructi-ves characteristics of the new chimney stack, the upper tubing of the connecting piece is used for hooking up the ends of the dish folded in and bolted to the top of the chimney pipe.
On the other hand, in the new chimney stack, the lower part of the lower pipe of the cap is advantageously bolted to the core
of the connecting piece by means of ends
angle or L-section. In this case, the horizontal flange of each end of the angle or L-section has a circular opening through
by the stud at the end of the angle iron or
L corresponding assembly of the connecting piece
and tube.
To make the new chimney stack particularly economical, the base, the tube, the connecting piece and the cap are molded in asbestem cement.
Generally, in the new chimney stack, the tube has a square or rectangular cross section as well as correspondingly, the base, the connecting piece and the cap.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent during the description and
drawings appended hereto which represent schematically and by way of example only one embodiment of the invention.

a new chimney stack mounted on a roof.
Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of the new chimney stack. Figure 3 is a vertical section of the new chimney stack mounted on the roof.
Figures 4 and 5 illustrate a mounting piece between the tube and the connecting piece of the new chimney stack.
Figures 6 and 7 illustrate another part for mounting the cap and the connecting part of the new chimney stack.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The chimney stack shown is mounted on a roof 1 and surrounds the upper part of the chimney pipe 2, which protrudes from the roof.
The chimney pipe 2 can be metallic and have a section, for example circular.
In essence, the chimney stack consists of a base 3, a tube 4, a connecting piece 5 and a cap 6. All these elements 3 to 6 of the chimney stack are molded parts of compressed asbestos-cement.
The base 3 in fact forms a frame consisting of a collar 7 and an upper tube 8. The collar 7 is applied to the rafters 9 or the purlins of the roof 1. The upper tube 8 forms
<EMI ID = 4.1>
the collar 7 on the rafters 9. The complementary angles, one acute and the other obtuse, formed by the upper pipe 8 and the collar 7 are thus a function of the general inclination of the roof.
The tube 4 has its upper edge perpendicular to its axis and its lower edge oblique to this axis along the general inclination of the roof. The lower edge of tube 4 can be sawn obliquely
when mounting the chimney stack. The lower part
<EMI ID = 5.1>
upper 8 of the base 3. Preferably, the lower part of the tube 4 is bolted to the upper tubing 8 of the base 3. After placement, the upper edge of the tube 4 is horizontal.
The connecting piece 5 consists of a flat horizontal core 10, by a lower tubing
11 and by an upper tube 12.
The core 10 of the connecting piece 5 is carried by the upper part of the tube 4 by means of the ends 13 of the angle iron or of the L-shaped profile sufficiently illustrated. The vertical flange of each corner piece 13 has an elongated opening 14 extending vertically, while the horizontal flange is solid and has a vertical stud 15 projecting upward. The vertical flange of each end of the angle iron 13 is applied internally against the upper part of the tube 4 and is secured thereto by a bolt 16, the threaded rod of which passes through a circular hole of this tube 4 and the elongated opening 14. The core 10 of the connecting piece 5 rests flat on the horizontal flange of each end of the angle iron 13 - and is secured thereto by means of the pin 15 passing through a circular hole of this core 10 and provided with a clamping nut 17.
-The lower tubing 11 of the connecting piece 5 externally borders the core 10 and extends vertically downwards. The lower tubing
11 surrounds the upper part of the tube at a distance
4 and hide the bolts 16.
The upper tubing 12 of the connecting piece 5 internally borders the core 10 and projects vertically upwards. The upper tubing
12 surrounds at a short distance the upper part of the chimney pipe 2. The upper pipe 12 serves
to hang pieces of flat 18 which are bent in and which are fixed to the upper part of the chimney pipe 2 by bolts not shown. So,
the upper pipe 12 allows the upper part of the chimney pipe 2 to be more or less joined to it.
The cap 6 is formed by a flat and solid core 19 and by a perforated lower tube 20. After placement, the core 19 is horizontal, while the lower pipe 20 is vertical.
The lower tubing 20 of the cap 6 has rectangular draw openings 21. The lower pipe 20 surrounds the upper end part of the chimney pipe 2 and the upper pipe 12 of the connecting piece 5. The lower pipe 20 is secured to the core 10 of the connecting piece 5 by means of ends 22 angle or L-section. The vertical flange of each end of angle 22 has an elongated opening
23. This vertical wing is applied flat against the lower tubing 20 and is secured thereto by
a bolt 24 whose threaded rod passes through a circular hole of this tube 20 and the elongated opening 23. The horizontal flange of each end of the angle
22 bears flat against the web 10 of the connecting piece 5 and is fixed thereto by means of the pin 15 and the clamping nut 17.
It should be noted that in the example chosen,
the tube 4 has a square or possibly rectangular section.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the cons-titution of some of the elements involved in its realization provided that these modifications are not inconsistent with the purpose of each of the following claims.
