I
de la figure 2;

<EMI ID=2.1>

"Element for the construction of contraction or expansion joints" The invention relates to elements for the construction of contraction or expansion joints, especially elements for the realization of contraction or expansion joints without differential settlement for any construction work. civil engineering, such as roads, runways, traffic, parking or storage areas, cold stores, slabs or floating screeds, sluices, tunnels, buildings and the like.
These elements according to the invention are constructed in such a way that the following advantages are obtained compared to known elements.
A first object of the invention consists in that the seat of the element is made of a material, such as steel or other material, thus avoiding, compared to known concrete elements, ao the casting and drying. of these elements.
Another object of the invention is that the elements are constructed in such a way that their presence does not create any appreciable strengthening of the slab in which they are incorporated, which makes it possible not to saw the initiation of cracks in the joints so quickly. than the known distribution elements require.
Another object consists in that the elements according to the invention can be incorporated into the thickness of slabs or screeds which are significantly thinner than those which can be produced with the known concrete elements.
Another object of the invention is that the distribution elements can be used in coatings which are traditionally thinner than concrete coatings such as, for example, hydrocarbon coatings or others.
Another object is to make it possible to incorporate the elements for the construction of contraction or expansion joints, in the thickness of the coating, even in case
very high overloads of use whereas the known distribution elements must, in this case, be placed in trenches underlying the slab.
Another object is to greatly reduce the weight of the elements compared to known concrete elements and, consequently, to considerably reduce the cost of transporting and using these elements according to the invention.
Another object of the invention is that the fixing of the waiting bars can be carried out by welding, given that both the seat and these waiting bars are made of steel. In a particular embodiment, the seat and the waiting bars can be produced in one piece by casting.
The elements according to the invention making it possible to obtain the aforesaid and other advantages are essentially constituted by a thin quadrangular seat made of a weldable and / or castable material having a high tensile strength.
In order to better demonstrate the characteristics of the present invention, a preferred embodiment is described below, by way of example without a limiting nature, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 shows in perspective view an element according to the invention; FIG. 2 represents, in plan and schematic view, a running surface at the location of a shrinkage or expansion joint executed according to the invention; Figure 3 is a section along line III-III

of Figure 2;
Figures 4 and 5 show, in side view, two variants of the element according to Figure 1; FIG. 6 shows a side view of an element according to the invention in a mixed steel-concrete execution.
In Figure 1 is illustrated an element 1 according to the invention, this element being constituted by a seat 2 of quadrangular shape and hooking means, or holding bars 3 in the form of stirrups. These waiting bars are located on the upper face of the seat 2 and this in such a way that they are present only on half of the upper surface of the seat.
In a known manner, these elements are found
in alignment below the slab 4 with, preferably,

It goes without saying that the elements 1 can be made of any material but, preferably, these elements 1 will be made of steel.
In a first embodiment, the brackets 3 are fixed to the seat 2 by welding.
In another embodiment, the elements can be obtained in one piece, by casting.
In both cases, the elements will preferably be made either of an incorrodable steel or of a steel treated with an anti-corrosion paint and sufficiently resistant to abrasion.
In Figures 4 and 5 are also shown, by way of example, elements 1 whose shape of the brackets 3 is different.
Finally, in Figure 6 is shown a
application in which element 1 is secured to a
