Description

"Sealing element"
The present invention relates to a sealing element, in particular intended for pipe connections, joints or the like.
To ensure the tightness of movable fittings
between tubes and also joints, we generally use felt rings or cords, but also joints
rubber, plastic sleeves and
round cords, gum foam. The felt and rubber gaskets are glued inside or outside or <EMI ID = 1.1>
For example, in the case of plastic parts with strong tolerances that must be sealed against each other - for example in the joints of the nozzles of dust extractors - the differences in dimensions of the cords or felt rings are too strong to ensure the sealing and therefore allow a good seal.
The invention aims to produce a sealing element which is established in a sufficiently flexible form so as to compensate for the manufacturing tolerances between the parts to be connected to one another, and which nevertheless ensures good sealing. In addition, the force required to move the rotating or tilting joint must be as low as possible and remain constant throughout the range of the allowable tolerances.
For this purpose, according to the invention, one of the two parts to be connected to one another in a sealed manner comprises a joint made of upright artificial fibers applied by the method of projection of oriented fibers known in the art under the flocking name. This seal is advantageously constituted by a flexible support, one side of which is self-adhesive or glued, while on the other are arranged the upright artificial fibers.
The appended drawing, given by way of example, will make it possible to better understand the invention, the characteristics that it has and the advantages that it is likely to provide.

laire 1 and the tilting part 2 integral with the corresponding pipe 3, on the other hand between this part 2 and the body 4 of the nozzle. For this purpose, peripheral grooves 5 are provided in the end piece 1 in which a sealing element 6 is mounted which, as shown in FIG. 2, comprises a soda support 7, on which we have distributed by projection
(flocking) of the upright synthetic fibers 8 comprising the height necessary for the desired seal. this height
fibers 8 is provided so as to allow an optimum sealed connection of parts 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 respectively, taking into account the range of tolerances. In other words, it is on the latter that the height or length of the fibers 8 thus arranged depends.
To fix the sealing element 6 in the grooves 5, the underside of the flexible support 7 is provided with self-adhesive or it is covered with a layer of glue 9. This support can be made of thin plastic sheet, in fabric, paper or rubber.
In order to prevent any axial displacement between the end piece 1 and the tube 3, a flat elastic ring 10 has been inserted in the known manner.
Part 2 is mounted in the body 4 so as to be able to swing around an axis 11. There is also provided a groove 12 in which -is glued; a sealing element
