<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>

Control for boats.
The present invention relates to a control for gondola boats in which is incorporated an electric motor with a short-circuited rotor for driving a propeller.
According to Patent of the Federal Republic of Germany n [deg.] 932,593, we know an order of this type for boats in the form of a gondola adapted externally to the hull of the boat and comprising a submerged motor with rotor
short-circuited, the propeller being surrounded by an annular nozzle acting at the same time as a retaining device for housing the engine constituting the gondola.
When vessels such as scientific boats, fishing vessels or also defense vessels, for example minesweepers, have to operate in dangerous mine-infested waters, they must be operated in such a way that the sensitive mines
very often triggered by mechanical, acoustic or magnetic impulses do not react. With the boat controls known until now, this problem cannot be solved any more than with the known maneuvering controls of the type described above and operating according to the principle of the active rudder. As a result, so far, the areas
<EMI ID = 1.1>
risk for special boats of this type.
The object of the present invention is to essentially eliminate this risk and it is based on the established fact that, with the main control known heretofore for a boat, it is practically impossible to avoid any acoustic, magnetic or other impulses or they can only be partially avoided at the cost of excessive expenditure. Consequently, the object of the invention is to provide the gondola containing the motor
<EMI ID = 2.1>
dangerous areas or during maneuvers, so as to essentially avoid a mine reaction. According to the invention, this object is essentially achieved as follows:
With the exception of the stator and rotor sheet package, all parts of the gondola equipped with an electric motor with a short-circuited rotor are made of non-magnetic raw material, and in the motor windings are provided auxiliaries compensating for a magnetization of the stack of sheets of the stator and of the rotor, produced by the earth's magnetic field in the vertical direction, the horizontal direction and the longitudinal direction. These auxiliary windings are supplied with direct current and they are insulated in a sealed manner against liquids, for example, water.
According to a further characteristic of the invention, the transverse demagnetization in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction depends on the degree of latitude and it
is carried out manually or automatically, for example, by means of an adjustment potentiometer. For this purpose, the coils of the auxiliary winding located on the periphery of the motor are used, for example, in the grooves of the housing of the latter or of the pack of sheets of the stator. Magnetic compensation in the longitudinal direction is preferably provided by front coils, at least part of which is controlled.
<EMI ID = 3.1>
reliably diffuse disturbing magnetic fields so that mines reacting to these magnetic fields do not
are not fired.
In order also to avoid additional acoustic pulses causing in particular the reaction of the mines, in a complementary embodiment of the invention, the electric motor with a short-circuited rotor is filled with water serving
<EMI ID = 4.1>
example, of the order of about 300 revolutions / minute at a power of about 90 kW, for example, by giving a high pole to the
<EMI ID = 5.1>
of the propeller of about 20 m / second.
An additional source of disturbance, for example, magnetic oscillations, can be avoided by making closed grooves in the stator and rotor sheets, then impregnating, under vacuum and with a varnish.
synthetic resin, the bundles of sheets provided with the winding, which is then subjected to hardening. In addition,
it is recommended to make the rotor in the form of a rotor
resistance so that the switching currents remain as low as possible and also in order to be able to calculate a low current supply for the control.
Furthermore, according to a complementary characteristic of the invention, the propeller of a control of this type is designed so that its noise level is adapted to the minimum values of the drive motor.
Additional characteristics of the invention will be described below in more detail with reference to an exemplary embodiment illustrated in a simplified form in
the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is a side view of an operating control according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a front view of this control; Figure 3 is a longitudinal section, on an enlarged scale, of the electric drive motor, and Figure 4 is a cross section taken in the plane IV-IV of Figure 3.
At the stern 1 of the boat, two rudder sticks 2 are provided, inclined symmetrically with respect to the vertical median plane of the boat and coupled in the usual manner and via
gears (not shown), etc., to a rudder motor. On the lower edge of each rudder rudder 3, a shaped part 4 is fixed, the front part of which constitutes a housing
gondola-shaped 5 for an electric drive motor 6.
At the rear end (located to the left in the drawing) of the shaped part 4, there are provided several radial arms 7 supporting an annular nozzle 8. The latter surrounds a fixed propeller 9.
<EMI ID = 6.1>
at the end of a motor shaft 10 with which it is firmly coupled by means of a conical connection 11. Externally, the housing 5 is closed in a perfectly sealed manner and it is filled with a liquid, for example , fresh water, also serving to lubricate the sliding bearings 12 and 13 made of an elastic material, as well as an axial bearing 14 provided at the front end of the shaft 10 of the motor. The engine fill is in communication with an elevated tank arranged inside the boat above the water line, so that it is constantly undergoing a slight overpressure of the fill liquid.
On the shaft 10 of the motor, is fixed, in the usual manner, a package of rotor plates 15, leaving a free axial annular space 16 for the circulation of water filling the interior of the motor. The rotor plate pack 15 is made as a resistance rotor having a short-circuited squirrel cage winding 17 disposed in closed grooves in the rotor. The stator sheet package
18 is disposed in the central cylindrical part of the gondola-shaped housing 5 and has a stator winding 19 inserted in closed grooves and strongly polar, eg 14-polar, with an appropriate supply frequency.
<EMI ID = 7.1>
stator 15 and 18, all construction parts of drive motor 6 and propeller 9 are made of non-magnetic raw material, for example, non-magnetic seawater resistant bronze, non-magnetic steel , copper or synthetic material.
In order to compensate for the longitudinal magnetic field in the stator and the rotor, there are provided, on the front end face of the stator, coils 20, 21 and, on the rear end face, coils 22, 23 arranged around the central axis of the motor
near the heads of the stator winding 19 and controlled entirely or partially depending on the heading and the position of the rudder by a gyroscopic compass and the position of the rudder. In order to compensate for the horizontal and vertical magnetic field by the position in degrees of terrestrial latitude of the boat, one has, in axial grooves 24 made on the back of the pack of stator plates 18, coils 25a-25e which can be adjusted by a potentiometer (not shown) according to each degree of latitude in which the boat is located. Thanks to these combined windings 20, 21, 22, 23 and 25a-25e, it is possible to take into account the modification of the earth's field due to the heading and depending on the degree of latitude, as well as the influence exerted by each position of the rudder. .
In order to also be able to absorb the large forces generated in the event of mine explosions, the entire control is designed to withstand the shocks resulting from underwater explosions. In this case, the construction elements are designed so as to resist, without exceeding the elastic limit, the static loads corresponding to a vertical acceleration from bottom to top, for example, of the order of 70 g, to accelerations vertical from top to bottom, for example, of the order of 35g, as well as horizontal accelerations, for example, of the order of 35g.
If the motor driven at a lower rated rotational speed, for example, 300 rpm is set in the range of about 300 to 130 rpm, for example, by changing the frequency and in the range of 130 to 80 rpm, for example, by changing the voltage to a constant <EMI ID = 8.1> frequency of 16 Hz, then favorable conditions are created for the drive and control device.
Thanks to the water-lubricated elastic sliding bearings 12, 13, 14, oscillations and mechanical noise are essentially avoided, while the oscillations produced by magnetic means are suppressed by the closed grooves in the plates of the rotor and the stator . After having been assembled in packs * the sheets are immersed under vacuum in a synthetic resin varnish, so that these packs of sheets form a body resistant to oscillations in the radial direction and the axial direction.
By proper shaping of all the rotating parts of the water-filled motor and thanks to its speed
particularly low rotation, it also essentially avoids hydraulic noise. The propeller is silent in construction and, like the rotor, it is balanced both statically and dynamically.
The control according to the invention is of interest not only for ships in defense technology, but also for scientific ships which, in order not to alter the measurements, must circulate in a silent manner and without encountering parasitic magnetic fields. In the case of smaller boats, it can also be used as the main control.
