Abstract

Substantially pure, optically active stereoisomers of cpds. are of formula (I) having the R configuration at C1 of the cyclopropane ring, (where R2,R3 are Cl. Br,F; R is 3-phenoxybenzyl or a-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl; or when one of R2,R3 is F, or when R2 and R3 are both Cl and the cyclopropane gp. has the IR cis configuration, R may be 5-benzyl-3-furylmethyl). (I) are prepd. by the Wittig reaction with resolution of the isomers before or after the reaction. The corresp. acid (R2,R3 are both F) is also claimed as substantially pure stereoisomers.
