Abstract

In blow moulding a container from continuously moving thermoplastics tube, the tube passes through a heater, a first mould closes about the tube, inflates the tube and moves away from the heater, a second mould closes about the tube between the first mould and heater, inflates the tube and moves away from the heater and the first and second moulds repeat these actions. The moulds are moved away from the heater faster than the tube is fed to the heater and the tube is clamped after the first or second mould has moved a certain distance from the heater.
