Abstract

Moulded articles, e.g. decorative panels, are produced by (a) placing a heated flat sheet of thermoplastic materila between the two parts of a cavity-defining mould, (b) closing the mould in a non-gastight manner, and (c) shaping the sheet along the mould contour by the injection of an expansible thermoplastic material, which contains a blowing agent. The injected thermoplastic material contains 0.05-4% blowing agent (based on total wt. of injection mass).
