Abstract
A cleaner compsn. is agitated by an alternating gradient electromagnetic field and comprises surfactant coated magnetic particles having a coercivity not less than 100 Oe and a cleaner in a carrier liq. Pref. particles are barium ferrite 0.1-20 mu dia. with magnetisation >=10 Gs/g. Cleaning is obtd. more rapidly and often at lower temps. than with other methods. Useful for metal plastics, wood, ceramics, etc. esp. ceramic-gold integrated circuits holders where leakage is 1/10 that obtd. with ultrasonic cleaning.
