Abstract

Method of refinement of steel in a bottom blown converter is one in which during blowing, addition may be made throught the mouth of the furnace to control the distribution of O2 between the melt and the slag, and the fluidity of the slag. Esp. CaO is added during the first 10 mins. blowing time, in amts. and times determined by the sound spectrum of the furnace.
