Abstract

The sewing machine described in 731794 has braking and declutching of the motor controlled by a first thyristor circuit energised via a first relay switch. The yarn cutter circuit includes a second relay switch which energises the cutter via a second thyristor having its control electrode connected to the energising circuit of first relay switch via a manual switch, pref. incorporated in the machine foot pedal, so that when the machine is stopped the yarn is cut as the sewing needle rises.
