Abstract

Title cpd. is prepared by reaction of 1,2-bis-(dichloromethyl)-3,4,5,6-tetrachlorobenzene with at least one organo-sulphonium acid selected from mono- di- and tri-sulphonic acids of benzene, halobenzene or nitrobenzene; diphenyl-sulphone-3,3'-disulphonic acid and lower alkyl sulphonic acids at elevated temps. m-Benzene disulphonic acid is preferred. The product may be extracted from the reaction mixture with an aromatic solvent, practically insoluble in water and the sulphonic acid, and is recovered by distillation.
