Abstract

Hand-operated plastics water-softener with ion-exchanger comprises a filter, which can be used for any regeneration process and be cleaned of substances clogging material by water which, during regeneration, is conveyed along a water outlet line into the apparatus and then flows out of the latter through a metering cock. Most of the material not passing through the filter sinks by gravity into the flushing water pipe, so as not to clog the filter. The metering cock effecting regeneration and permitting salt water, i.e. flushing water to be drained from the softener, can be replaced by a cock with a time regulator.
