BREVET D'INVENTION DISPOSITIF POUR LA SUSPENSION DE PAROIS
D'UN CLASSEHRNT VERTICAL SUSPENDU Société BETRAL
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

PATENT OF INVENTION DEVICE FOR SUSPENSION OF WALLS
OF A SUSPENDED VERTICAL CLASSEHRNT Company BETRAL
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention relates to the document classification * between the semi-rigid walls, for example cardboard, hung by the extra. mites from their upper edges to slides mounted either in a drawer along both sides of this drawer, or in a filing cabinet parallel to the front of the cabinet for the so-called lateral access filing, that is to say with introduction and extracting the documents in a practically horizontal direction perpendicular to the front of the filing cabinet,
With known suspension devices, it frequently happens that the walls,
supporting the documenta and generally consisting of sheets of cardboard, are drawn upwards when the interior documents are lifted to consult them or extract them and that these walls then come loose, disturbing the arrangement of the whole, opposing the correct slide in the suspension file collection and causing damage or loss of documents.
The devices proposed so far to remedy this defect have proved to be ineffective or not very economical, owing to the complication which resulted for the manufacture of supports or hanging files, or even impractical due to the special maneuvers imposed for the release. or hanging up when it was necessary to remove or add suspension files.
The object of the invention is to provide a new suspension device effective against any unwanted unhooking, of economical manufacture and easy handling, '
The economy afforded by the invention arises from the fact that.
, no gluing or stapling operation of the upper part of the wall is necessary for the assembly of the suspension device, that the assembly is very quick and simple and only involves standardized elements which allow the constitution of bamacs of
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
various lengths without costly adaptations, The invention consists in associating with the upper edge of each wall 4 suspending a suspension device composed of independent end pieces intended to rest and slide on fixed horizontal suspension slides, these end pieces being connected by a metal rod which is engaged in an upper fold of the wall to be suspended,
this fold and the wall to be suspended being held against each other by clamping between clamping tabs of the end pieces. To avoid any risk of the wall to be suspended slipping out of the clamping tabs, a locking lug can be provided on one of these tabs which penetrates into a facing hole made in the other tab, the wall to be suspended having a corresponding opening where the locking lug is housed,
Each end piece has a profile made up of an upper hook intended to rest and slide on a suspension slide and, below this hook,
a stop tab which normally engages below the suspension slide preventing unhooking but which can be released in front of the slide by an oblique displacement of the rod with respect to the slides so as to allow release vertical orochot and unhooking for example by pulling forward in the case of a vertical filing with side access.
The end pieces are advantageously made of plastic material, which ensures good sliding on the slides and the absence of any noise during handling.
It will be noted that when the suspension device according to the invention is mounted, the ends of the metal rod penetrate deeply into the upper part of the plastic hooks, which reinforces this upper part which rests.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
on the slides, supporting the weight of the hammocks.
This results in a suspension device combining the strength qualities of metal rods and the soundproofing and good sliding characteristics of the plastic material,
To facilitate handling of the flexible suspended walls without risk of deterioration, in particular in the case of the side-access classification which leads to the walls being moved by action on their front vertical edge, this front vertical edge (or each of the vertical edges if deemed useful) is advantageously folded inside a semi-rigid stiffening rod, for example of suitable plastic material, extruded according to a suitable profile,
This stiffening rod penetrates at its upper part in a vertical extension of the stop tab of the extra part. mited before, this extension being provided with a slide profile in which can be placed a label for identifying the hammock. In some cases, this extension can extend over the entire front edge of the suspended wall.
To make the invention fully understood, it will be described in more detail below, by way of example two embodiments with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which FIG. 1 is a partial cross section of a classification row. showing the use of a first embodiment of a suspension device according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a view along arrow II of FIG. 1; FIG. 3 is a section on a larger scale along the line III-III of FIG. 1; and FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a part of the suspension device according to a second embodiment.
In the drawing, there is shown a cardboard wall 4 of a single thickness, but it will be understood that the invention also applies to the case of double walls',
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
In the example of the drawing, it has been assumed that the support slides of the suspended walls consist of an interior folded back of an upper shelf 1 of a filing cabinet allowing access to documents through the front of the cabinet, but we It will be understood that in the case of suspension files in a drawer, there is no shelf 1 and that the slides are supported by the walls of the drawer along both sides thereof. The lower folds of the shelf 1 shown successively comprise a descending part 2,
a horizontal part 3 towards the interior and a final vertical ascending wing 4 on which the suspension devices are attached. However, it will be understood that the invention is equally applicable to slides of different types.
In the example of FIG. 1 ', the suspension device consists of two plastic parts generally designated 5 and 6 and of a straight metal rod 7 which joins the two parts 5 and 6 and supports the middle part of the wall being engaged in a sheath formed along the upper edge of the suspended wall 8 by a fold of this wall around line sa, 1 lower end 9 of the fold being applied against the main part of the wall 8, It will be understood that instead of a simple fold 9, one could provide a wall of the same dimensions as the wall 8, which would provide a double wall hammock capable of supporting higher loads.
The suspension device of the invention also makes it possible, without special adaptation, to provide a continuous hooking of a series of hammocks to one another.
The parts 5 and 6 which can be obtained by molding for example have roughly identical parts constituting a hook 10, a recess 11 corresponding to the location of the slide 4 and a stop tab 12 projecting outwards under the part 3 of the slide. The Cxochet 10 advantageously has an oblique ramp 13 on its underside.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
The horizontal part 14 of the hook which rests on the vertical wing 4 of the slideway is pierced with a hole intended for the housing of the corresponding end of the rod 7 which will thus secure the frame of the hook.
The parts 5 and 6 are fixed to the wall 8 by the engagement of the latter and of the fold 9 between clamping tabs mixed
15 and female 16 which extend at the rear the bodies of parts 5 and 6. The slightly elastic male tab 15 is provided with a locking lug 17 extending inside a hole 18 made in the female tab 16 and intended to lock in a hole
19 provided both in the wall 8 and the fold 9.
The legs 15 and 16 are substantially parallel and leave between them an interval corresponding approximately to the thickness of the wall 8 and of the fold 9 together. The easy engagement of the wall in the clamp consisting of the tabs 15 and 16 is permitted by the ramp-shaped surface 20 of the locking lug 17 which is pushed elastically outward during engagement,
On the contrary, when the lug is in place in the hole 19 (the wall its surface 21 opposite the inclined ramp prevents any sliding because it is abrupt. The release can only be done by a traction exerted on the lug. male 15.
This removable pinch system avoids the use of glue to form the sheath formed by the fold 9, In addition, it makes it possible to easily adapt the spacing between the parts 5 and 8 to the space of the slides 2, It To achieve this adaptation, it is sufficient to cut the rods 7 to the desired length so that in a normal position perpendicular to the slides, the latter are engaged in the recess 11 above the stop tab 12 which therefore opposes at stall.
If it is necessary to unhook a wall for its removal
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
or its replacement, it suffices to shift its front edge so as to impose a sufficient obliquity on it so that the front hook 10 comes just against the internal face of the wing 4 which then escapes 4 the stop tab 12, The concave cutout 22 of the front angle of part 5 then makes it possible to lift the front of the suspended wall and to move it away even more obliquely so that the hook 10 escapes from the front slide and can then be lowered below of it.
To complete the removal of the wall, it suffices to pull it forward, which slides the rear orochet 10 on the wing 4 of the corresponding slide thanks to the ramp profile 13,
In FIG. 1, part 5 is extended vertically by a label-holder strip 23, the front face of which has a groove 24 in which a label and a label protection strip can be slid, and the rear face of which is prismatic. 25 is hollowed out with a slot intended to receive a stiffening rod 26 which is mounted on a fold 27 of the lateral edge of the wall 8, for example of the front edge. This stiffening rod can be of any suitable profile obtained by extrusion of a polymerized material, this profile comprising two branches with internal ribs and a bulging core.
It will be understood that the porto-6tiquotto rod 23 could be extended over the entire height of the wall 8, In this case, we could avoid using a stiffening rod such as 26, providing an internal profile of the rear cast iron of the rod. label holder such that it clamps the edge of the wall and stiffens it,
It will be understood that the shape of the end pieces ropr6- estées in FIG. 1 is not limiting and will depend on the production methods. Thus, one could provide a shape such as that shown in a variant in Figure 4, in which the
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
gripping tabs 30 and 31 form an inverted U whose core 32 is integral with part 14 of hook 10 and surrounds it,
when the device is mounted on the wall, the ends of the sheath in which the rod is slid. In addition, the lug 17 of the male tab 30 cooperates with a circular orifice 33 drilled in the female tab 31. To increase the relative elasticity of the clamping tabs 30 and 31 in order to facilitate the introduction of the wall, it is possible to provide a slot such as 34 formed along one of the two lines of connection of one or the other tab to the body of the plastic part. In the example shown, this slot 34 is vertical and therefore allows the female tab 31 to elastically move away from the mixed tab. However, it will be understood that this slot could be horizontal.
It will be understood that the present description is not restrictive and that it would be possible to provide additions or modifications without departing from the scope of the invention, which should be interpreted in its broadest sense,
