Dans le cas de cette variante les appareils 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 et 11 restent inchangés par rapport à la réalisation @ selon la figure 1. ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

A method and plant for bagging petroleum pitch, coal tar pitch, asphalt or other products.
The present invention relates to a process and a plant for bagging petroleum pitch from coal tar pitch, asphalt or other products.
Currently, in particular, the pitch is discharged in the hot state (approximately 210) into bags which are then formed thick stored in the flat state for a period of approximately 24 bcures and then stacked on pallets for shipment.
It will be understood that such a method of proceeding completely discontinuously requires a large labor force and requires a large working area, linked in particular to the slowness of the cooling.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks: to allow continuous and faster work and to reduce the

minimum manual work while making the installation more compact.
In order to achieve these aims, the product previously spread in thin layers on a cooling apparatus is cooled to the solid state with the formation of a thin and continuous plate, and then the latter is subjected to a solid state. cutting or crushing operation followed by granulation or grinding operation whereby pieces are obtained having dimensions allowing the feeding of an automatic bagging machine capable of using valve bags or others.
In order to make the invention fully understood, two installations which may be suitable for use in practice will be described below, without limitation, with reference to the attached schematic drawings (figures and 2).
An installation according to the invention comprises an endless steel strip 1 stretched over two drums 2 and supplied to a volumetric pump 4 which can regulate the flow rate and the thickness of the layer of material.

This bagging machine provided with a hopper 10 and equipped with a rocker allows the filling of bags 11 with valves or the like.
FIG. 2 relates to a variant in which the endless steel strip of FIG. 1 is replaced by a static cooling device 12 such as a cold table or other device.
A cold table consists of a double-walled strip in which a refrigerant is circulated (water, glycol or other product - inlet at 51 and outlet at 61).
This cooling table can also consist of a simple shelf, the cooling being effected by the ambient air.
In the case of this variant, the devices 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 remain unchanged with respect to the embodiment @ according to FIG. 1;
What is particular in the case of the invention consists in the prior spreading of the product in thin layers of 6 to 15 mm. on a cooling apparatus to accelerate cooling, ripening or crystallization which is followed by cutting and then granulation or grinding.
It is also possible to ensure accurate weighing of the product and shipment in the crushed state in bags by immediate bagging by means of an automatic machine using valve bags or the like. These baggers work by a projection technique or by a blower.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
It is also an advantage that the work can take place entirely continuously and that the installation, although at high efficiency, takes up only a small space.
The plant is mainly suitable in the case of petroleum pitch, coal tar pitch, asphalt, but it can find an advantageous application also for example for mothballs or resins.
