<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
On décrira ci-après un appareil de reproduction à bande suivant la présenta invention d'u@e manière plue détaillée en se référant aux dessins annexée dans les- quels : la figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'un appareil de reproduction à bande suivant l'invention, le boîtier extérieur étant enlevé et une partie étant déta- chée, cette vue étant prise :par le dessus, l'avant et un coté;

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>

by means of a rotary drive member such as an aace, by means of a rotary drive member such as an axis, generally designed under the revolver shaft number engaging on the face of the outwardly facing web in cooperation with a rotating pressure roller or the like engaging the inward facing side of the web,
this rotary pressure roller being good inside the cartridge. The revolver axis is driven by a heavy flywheel generally known as a revolver, whereby the revolver axis rotates at a constant speed.
In order for the tape to be hooked firmly between the presser shaft and the roller / rotary presser, it requires that the presser roller be mounted on the cartridge to be pushed resiliently and firmly into contact with the shaft <of the gun. For this purpose, the cartridge is pushed towards the axis of the revolver by means of a relatively powerful hooking element on which the cartridge is attached to when loading, while in this released batches of unloading, so that a large force must be overcome when a cartridge is loaded and discharged into and out of the tape apparatus, respectively.
An apparatus for reproducing sound from a tape of the type described in the preceding paragraph will be designated hereinafter by the expression "of the type described".
A tape apparatus of the deorit type is often employed in motor vehicles in which it is essential that the driver can insert and remove a cartridge from the apparatus with minimal effort, so as not to distract his attention.
Therefore, the need to overcome the strong elastic force of the spring catching member is a drawback of a tape reproducing apparatus of this type and it is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus. improved tape reproduction type

not part of the present invention.
In Figures 1 and 2 the tape reproducing apparatus is illustrated generally at 10 and comprises a previously recorded tape 11 provided in a medium 12 generally known as a cartridge in which the tape is. wound on a winding mechanism (not shown), to then pass through the openings 13 made in the cartridge 12 and finally be rewound inside the cartridge. The oartouohe is designed to be slid into a cavity 9 provided in the device 10 and elements are provided. suitable hook to hold the cartridge 12 in place and push it elastically towards the interior of the device 10.
When the cartridge 12 has been loaded, in the apparatus 10, it engages on the conveyor element which moves it between its inactive position and an active position in which the cartridge 12 is firmly pushed and resiliently towards the interior of the apparatus, so that the strip 11 contacts a magnetic sound reproducing head 14 as it passes through the openings 13 made in it.
the oartouohe 12, the strip being moved by a revolver axis 15 against which the face of the strip 11 facing outward is elastically pushed by means of a rotary pressure roller 16 which engages on the face of the turned strip inwardly, this pressure roller being permanently mounted inside the cartridge 12.
The revolver shaft 15 is rotatably mounted in the apparatus 10 on de. bearings (not shown) and is assembled in a non-rotatable manner to a heavy flywheel or revolver 17 which is driven by a flexible belt 18 from an electric motor 19.

Tape sound reproduction to which the present invention is applied, while the features forming the object of the invention will hereinafter be described in more detail.
The cavity 9 receiving the cartridge generally has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiece and it comprises upper and lower walls 20 and 21 opposed and spaced apart, a side wall 22 extending norndement between them, on one side thereof, as well as an opposing side wall 23 having openings. The side wall 22 comprises three rollers (not shown) rotating around a vertical axis and provided to come into engagement on one side of the oartouohe 12 when it is loaded into the device. The upper and lower walls 20 and 21 also engage on the oartouohe 12; but they are not provided with rollers.
A stop lug 7, supported by a main side plate described below, emerges in the cavity 9 near its inner end, passing through a slot made in the inner wall 21, to strike the end wall. with cartridge openings 12.
A hooking element 24, comprising an angled lever 25 having a roller 26 at the free end of one of its branches, is mounted in the apparatus such that the roller 26 emerges through an opening made. in the wall 23 and comes to engage in the usual V-shaped recess 27 provided on the side of the cartridge 12, while the other branch of the lever 25 is generally parallel to the side of the cavity 9.
As will be described below, the roller 26 of the angled lever 25 comes to engage elastically on the oartouohe 12 and tends to push the latter towards the wall 32; this is the reason why rollers are provided so that the cartridge 12 slides easily into its cavity.
At the free end of the other branch of the lever
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
25, is provided a pin 28 directed downward and passing! through a narrow slot 29 made in a fixed part 30 of the apparatus, this pin extending parallel to the side walls 22, 23 of the cavity 9 receiving the cartridge. An oirolip washer 31 (see FIG. 2) engages in a groove made in the pin 28, in order to keep the lever 25 in place.
At the junction between the two arms of the angled lever 25, there is provided another pin 32 directed downwards and protruding through another slot 33. The part of the pin 32 emerging through the slot 33 engages between the arms of a fork 34 and a coil tension spring 35 is connected between the pin 32 and the member 33 to urge the pin 32 so that it engages with the base of the fork. The slot 33 has a first stop 33a extending parallel to the side walls 22, 23 of the cavity 9 receiving the joint and a second release portion 33b extending generally perpendicularly away from the adjacent side wall 22. .
The fork 34 is integral with a main side plate 36 (described below) and, as the main side plate moves rearward and forward parallel to the sides 23, 22 between its active and inactive positions, the fork 34 also slides the elbow lever 25 backwards and forwards and, when its roller 26 engages in the recess 27 of the cartridge 12, the latter also moves. - lement backwards and forwards between its active and inaotive positions.
When the main side plate 36 occupies its inactive position, that is to say when it is closest to the front of the cavity 9 receiving the oartouohe, the pin 32 is in alignment with the release part.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
33b of the slot and thus the angled lever 25 can pivot around the spindle 28, while the roller 26 can move laterally out of the recess 27 to allow the unloading or loading of a cartridge respectively out of and in the slot. apparatus. When the main side plate 26 is moved towards the interior of the apparatus in the aotive position,
the pin 32 is prevented from moving laterally outward away from the recess 27 by not engaging the stop edge 33o of the stop 33a of the slot 33 and thus the roller 26 is positively held in the recess 27.
The hooking member 24 serves only to hold the cartridge 12 relative to the side plate 36 and it does not move the cartridge 12 between its active and inactive positions, so that it does not require any significant pressure from a spring. . The force of the spring 35 should be simply sufficient to push the roller 26 into the recess 27, the roller 26 being held in this recess 27 as a result of engagement with the 33o side of the slot 33, so that it does not It is necessary to overcome a very slight spring pressure in order to be able to load or unload the cartridge 12 respectively in and out of the apparatus 10.
The force required to move the cartridge between its inactive position and its active position, in which the band is pushed firmly against the revolver shaft, is provided by the movement of the side plate 36, this movement being communicated to the cartridge by the hooking element.
The main side plate 36, which constitutes the conveyor element of the present invention, will be described hereinafter with particular reference to Figures 2 and 3.
The main side plate 36, shown in Figure 3, has, in plan, the shape of an L and the shortest.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The branch of the L forms the forked member 34. The main side plate 36 is designed to slide on the framework of the apparatus below the base 21 of the cavity 9 receiving the oartouohe, its longest branch 37 s' extending in the direction of movement of the cartridge 12,
The longer strand 37 of the main side plate has three coaxial elongated slots 38 and 39.
the two end slots 38 being provided to receive two rollers 40 provided on the pins 41 fixed below the inner wall 21 of the cavity 9 receiving the oartouohe, so that the main side plate 36 can slide in the longitudinal direction of the cavity 9, that is to say in the direction of introduction and withdrawal of the oartouohe 12, Among the three slots, the central slot 39 is wide enough to receive, with a certain clearance, the end lower of the revolver axis 15,
On each side the longer branohe37 has flanges 42, 43, these flanges being limited, while they do not extend over the entire length of each side and they are longitudinally staggered,
so that the end 42a of the flange 42 on one side is roughly in line with the center of the flange 43 on the other side of the longer leg 37.
A control slide 44, generally rectangular (seen in plan) and oomportant two tent. lying down.
45, 46, is slidably mounted on the pins 41 slightly away from and below the main plate 36 by means of guide rollers 47 mounted on the exes 41 and engaging in the slots 45, 46 , collars 48 being placed around the pins 41, between the main side plate 36 and the commando slide 44. Circlip washers 49 are provided on the pins 41 below the control slide 44, in order to hold it in place
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
focused on 41.
Between two tents 45, 46 of the control slide 44 and coaxial with these slots, slightly away from the inner end of the tent 46, which is closest to the opening of the recess of the cartridge, a pivot 50 for a pulley support plate 51 *
This pulley support plate 51 is nearly generally triangular in shape, the pivot 50 being provided / from an apex of the triangle, tandin that rubber pulleys
52, 53 are rotatably mounted at the other two vertices of the triangle.
The separation of the axes and the diameter of the pulleys 52, 53 are provided such that when the control slide 44 performs a reciprocating movement in its longitudinal direction, the pulleys 52, 53 move. on the revolver axis 15 and, when one of the pulleys 52, 53 engages on the axis 15, the other pulley is released. The diameter of the pulleys 52, 53 is also chosen such that, when a pulley 52, 53 engages) on the axis 15, the flange 42 or 43 formed on the main side plate 36 also comes into place. engage on pulley 52, 53 on the side opposite to that on which the revolver pin 15 engages.
A conventionally shaped article spring 54 for producing a "dead center effect" is provided between the top body of the tape reproducing apparatus 10 and one end of a pivot lever 55 pivotally assembled. its other end, to the main lateral plate 36, of the aorta which the latter is pushed towards or away from the revolver axis by the articulated spring 54. The drive provided by the revolver axis 15 via the rubber pulleys 52,53 serves to move the main side plate 36 into the neutral position of the articulated spring 54.
When in use, assuming the cartridge
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
che occupies its active position, the control member 44 moves in its longitudinal direction in the direction of the exterior of the device, that is to say in the direction of the arrow
A and so, the rubber pulley 52 engages the revolver axle 15 and, assuming that this axle rotates clockwise (figure 2), the rubber pulley 52 will rotate clockwise. clockwise and therefore the left edge of the pulley (see figure 2) will move forward to the middle of the device.
Further, when the controller 44 moves in the manner described above, it will engage the aforementioned rubber pulley 52 on the end 42b of the upwardly folded flange 42 and thus, when the pulley 52 rotates in the opposite direction. clockwise, the flange 42 on which the pulley 52 engages will move in a direction in which the cartridge
12 will be brought into contact with the revolver axis 15, that is to say in its aotive position. Figure 2 shows the main side plate at this point.
As the main side plate 36 has moved until the rear end 42a of the flange 42 disengages from the pulley 52, the articulated spring 54, which has thus moved into its neutral position, continues. naked to move the main side plate 36 and, consequently, the pressure roller 16 supported by the cartridge 12 is elastically forced to come into engagement with the revolver shaft 15, while the pulley 52 is released from the latter,
When it is desired to move the cartridge into its inactive position and, consequently, to disengage from the revolver shaft 15, the pressure roller 16 of the cartridge 12, the control slide 44 is pushed inwards in the direction of the arrow B, so that the pulley 53 engages on the axis 15 and turns, therefore,
in sense
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
counterclockwise by not engaging the end 43a of the flange 43 of the main side plate 36 and thus the latter is driven in a direction in which the pressure roller 16 of the cartridge 12 is. clear of the revolver shaft 15.
The pivoting mounting of the pulley support 51 on the axle 50 allows the pulleys 52, 53 to perform a slight lateral movement, thus ensuring good contact with both the revolver axle 15 and the flange 42 or 43 , since the pulleys 52 and 53 also "float" between the revolver shaft 15 and the associated flange 42 or 43, while a catching effect is exerted on the pulleys 52, 53 and thus, each pulley tends to be pulled between the revolver axis 15 and the associated flange 42 or 43,
Therefore, it will be understood that, through the axis 15, the revolver ensures the drive of the cartridge eur a short distance, while the cartridge rises towards the neutral position of the articulated spring 54.
The revolver is completely released from the drive of the cartridge when the latter ocuts its active and inaotive positions.
It will also be appreciated that optionally only one of the rubber pulleys 52 or 53 can be provided if it is only desired to employ a control to move the cartridge in one direction. For example, it is relatively easy to load the cartridge manually into cavity 9 to first re-engage with hook 24, then move the cartridge and main side plate to the "stitch position. dead "of the articulated spring 54 in the active position of the cartridge. However, it is much more difficult to remove the cartridge from its active position, since there is no convenient nosition to manually tap the cartridge. ,
also. it would be necessary to plan for pre-training
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
cited to move the main side plate from the active position to the inactive position and, in this case, only the pulley 52 would be provided.
