<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Lifting device and more especially handling device for shelving warehouses.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to a lifting device and more particularly to a handling device: for shelving warehouses, advantageously having the farm of a vehicle.
The lifting devices according to the known technique which are used in particular for handling in shelving warehouses generally comprise a platform or driving position on which the attendant in charge of the device is seated. On one side of said driving position is a lifting device often in the form of a fork. The driving position, can together with the dis-. positive lifting, slide upwards on the device.- When handling goods to be placed or taken from shelving, we generally work in such a way as to lift a pallet from the ground by means of the fork and to drive the lift. - the same elevator in the aisles between the racks,.
The person in charge of the operation of the device located in the driving position then places on the pallet products or articles from various shelves located at different heights. Since the attendant is either at the same height or higher than the fork, he must therefore, when loading goods or articles on the pallet, first of all lower himself down. It is only when the pallet is more or less loaded that the stacking of the goods on the pallet can be done without having to bend down. The loading of the pallet, accompanied at the beginning of bending. repetitions is a very tiring way of working that requires the expenditure of extra time.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The object of the invention is a lifting device, more especially an apparatus for handling in shelving warehouses, by means of which the attendant can always load the pallet resting on the lifting device, for example on the fork. , in an almost standing position.
The lifting device, more especially for handling shelving warehouses according to the present invention, is characterized in that the lifting device, for example the fork, is arranged so as to be able to go up and down with respect to the driver's station where is the attendant. Thanks to this arrangement, the attendant is able, when the lifting device is lowered, to raise the pallet relative to the ground and to bring it into a working position which will allow him to transfer the goods from the shelf to the pallet and vice versa in a short time and without great physical expenditure. ; The higher the load is on the pallet, the more it will have to be lowered. This allows it to always be placed at a practical height.
The driver's station can have vertical guides, for example rails on which a fork-carrying carriage slides which can also be blocked. The fork carriage can for example be raised or lowered by means of a hydraulic cylinder or by chains.
The arrangement can also be such that the lifting device can be moved in height relative to the driving position by means of a deformable parallelogram actuated by a lifting cylinder arranged diagonally.
The invention is described below by an embodiment shown in the drawings by way of example, in these drawings: - Figure 1 illustrates the lifting apparatus according to the invention.

vention in the form of a vehicle.
- Figure 2 is a plan view of the apparatus of Figure 1.
- Figure 3 shows schematically an embodiment - different with regard to the movement of the lifting device relative to the driving position.
The lifting device 1, preferably produced in the form of a vehicle thanks to the wheels 2, comprises a frame 3, on which is arranged a driving station 4 intended for the attendant.
The displacement of the. driving position 4 upwards is provided by vertical guide rails 5 between which a carrier carriage 6 slides. The carrier carriage 6 is sliding by means of a hydraulic cylinder 7 and a chain which is associated with it.
The lifting device is connected to the sliding driver's station 4 and is in fact itself movable relative to the latter. For this purpose, the forks 9 are placed on a carrier carriage 10 which slides in the guides 11 of the driver's station which can be moved in height. The height displacement of the carriage 10 and of the forks 9 can also be provided by a hydraulic cylinder 12 and an associated traction chain. In this way, the height position of the forks relative to the driving station 4 can be adjusted on demand and in fact, independently of the possibilities of height displacement of the driving position 4 and in addition to these.
The exemplary embodiment illustrated by FIG. 3 shows that the carriage 10a carrying the forks 9 can still be formed in another way with respect to the driving position and, consequently, with respect to the carriage 6 carrying the driving position.
This embodiment comprises a deformable parallelogram 13, known per se and actuated by means of a lifting cylinder 14 arranged diagonally.
