<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
L'isolation du récipient autoohauffant 3., pendant la , traitement des déchets est obtenue au moyen d'un disque 25. d'isolant thermique, qui agit de manière à éviter la trans- mission et la disporsion de la chaleur;
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>

Le support intérieur 26. est simplement un an- neau d'étanchéité formé par un métal différent pour la pro- tection de l'arbre 4. et sert pour éviter len fuites et pour maintenir la pression intérieure inaltérée* Les pertea de pression détruisent la concentration de la vapeur et elles varient ainsi tous les résultats* Les tube$ fixes 8. et 9. sont aussi munis d'une pièce tubulaire coaxiale 31. de dia- mètre convenable pour créer une chambre annulaire 32. qui sert pour l'isolation des tubes sur presque toute leur lon- gueur;
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>
<Desc/Clms Page number 13>

The object of the present invention is a rotating or rotary autoolave intended to regenerate waste of any type of natural, synthetic or mixed rubber, either in pieces of any size, or in powder.
More precisely, the invention relates to a self-heating and rotating autoclave for the regeneration of natural, synthetic or mixed rubber waste, characterized in that this autoclave comprises a pressure vessel, on a frame formed by two lateral supports, and that it rotates with two shafts coaxial with each other and with the container, shafts of which at least one is controlled and at least one other is crossed by a fixed tube which penetrates inside the container and serves to feed and / or evacuate the fluids for the treatment of waste, said revolving container being furthermore provided with an opening for loading and unloading the waste during work,
this opening being preferably oval with the larger axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation *

One or more fixed tubes 12 and 13, preferably arranged according to an arc of circumference, concentric with respect to the container, are arranged inside the container 3 and are connected there integrally to each of the two fixed tubes. 8. and 9. are more conveniently placed on the part of the tubes which is not struck by the material being processed (waste) during the rotation of the autoolave.
As can be seen from FIG. 4, each external part, with respect to the self-heating autoclave, is isolated from the container 3 by a disc 25. of thermal insulating material, for example, asbestos, having the central part with holes and interposed between two sealing flanges; furthermore, two ring chambers 15. in which a cooling liquid circulates are arranged on both sides of the support bearing 14. of each shaft 4 and 5 .; each tree is further

fitted with a cable gland 20., with a locking device 21.
The opening 10. for the loading and unloading of waste is of the oval shaped "man's paa" type, with the largest axis on the Equator and it has an interior porta 11. provided with piles 16. which s; introduce into guide seats pre-arranged so as to ensure perfect closure with a centering of the sealing gasket pressed against the perimeter of the door itself,
The important innovation of the door 11. allows the use of a mouth step by step, opening and closing easily and quickly, until previously never adopted in pressure tanks.
This door is truly a man's step and not just an inspection window. Further, the described construction of the door 11. allows the placement of the gasket on the perimeter of the door, instead of the perimeter of the mouth of the container which, being rotatable, could not support the seat of the container. the packing without the danger of damaging it or also only contaminating it during rotation when the trap is open for the waste discharge operation.
It is obviously important to apply the gasket to a suitable seat in the door, which can be removed and does not remain exposed to possible damage. It is also very important that the piles 16., being introduced into appropriate guides, make the door 11 safer for its industrial, economical and practical face. Tightening of the Trim against the perimeter of door 11 is carried out at
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
by means of one or more crosses 14. and the relative bolts 41. (figure 6). ,
The port 11. is furthermore provided with a valve 11 'for the pressure relief and control.
Required contact to the earth 22. (figure 1) is laced very close to one of the rotating supports, for example near the support shaft 4 to discharge the static energy which) forms at 1 'inside the casing while the autoclave is in operation.
A thermocouple rod, the terminal of which is indicated with 23., is disposed in the fixed tube 8., which connects the interior of the container 3. with the exterior.
The stem of this thermooouple is in contact with the internal pressure of the container 3. and therefore it indicates the exact temperature, while the formation of encrustations on its stem is eliminated since it is cleaned! by the feed streams which pass through tube 8. '
The advantages which the autoclave which is the subject of the present invention offers in comparison with the autoclaves of the current type are obvious:
The ends of the tubes 12 and 13 are placed outside the area where the outlet 10 is located for the loading and unloading of the waste, as well as outside the area normally occupied by the working waste which corresponds to approx. four-fifths of its volume, and therefore there is no danger that their holes 33. may be blocked and that
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
besides the container 3. can be supplied or discharged of the working fluids when it is under pressure and without any danger.
The insulation of the self-heating container 3, during the treatment of the waste, is obtained by means of a disc 25. of thermal insulation, which acts in such a way as to prevent the transmission and the dispersion of heat;
consequently, during work, the temperature is adjustable and is kept constant L @ cooling of the hollow shafts 4 and 5, which can also be produced only by the chambers 15. with circulating water (figure 4.). prevents the tubes 6. and 9. from undergoing temperature variations, thus avoiding pressure losses from the cable glands 20., which could modify the working conditions and the waste treatment.
The earth contact 22. gives a guarantee for the discharge of state energy that could form in the presence of certain types of synthetic waste inside the autoclave, thus avoiding the danger of autocombustion. tion when opening the autoclave and the relative air inlet.
The relief valve 11 ', the door 10 of which is provided. allows the elimination of any residual pressure which might exist inside the container 3.when it is opened, and in addition it allows a partial elimination of the air from the inside of the container itself, as is necessary for certain treatments of synthetic waste.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The production of the autoclave according to the invention, illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 7, gives the possibility of working either with the waste in pieces or in powder.
For this purpose, it has been considered advantageous that the fixed tubes 12. and 13., that is to say the tubes preferably curved inside the container 3., instead of being completely fixed, can be oriented in angular position. determined by an adjustable joint 34. on the axial tube 8, or 9. to give them either the vertical or inclined position depending le'type of waste to be treated.
The curved inner tubes 12. and 13. can reach a greater length, thanks to the oval shape of the opening 10. of the container 3. and of its door having the larger diameter perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the container. all.
It has also been found necessary a greater extension of the cooling zone internal to the fixed tubes 12 and 13, that is to say of the lying surfaces in the hollow shafts, by creating an annular chamber 32 which surrounds each tube. 8. and 9. and in which a coolant is passed (fig. 7.) through holes 29. and 30.
In this way it is possible to increase the utila. tion of the autoclave; in fact very fine powders can be imitated in the autoclave even by moving the loading tubes and the gas evacuation and in Ion disposing in
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
position, vertical to prevent:
the powdered waste during the treatment fills the loading and exhaust holes 33 predisposed in the extreme zone of these tubes and by entering these holes, they can plug and partially or completely block the tubes 12 and 13. In this case But the holes are only placed in the rear part of the tubes in relation to the direction of rotation, so that they do not come into contact with the moving material inside the rotating autolave, which will would plug the holes 33.
The pulverized waste is normally agglomerated during the treatment and therefore the powders can never reach the ends of these tubes 12 and 13, since their waste falls spontaneously by gravity before reaching the hole zone 33. of the tubes. 12 and 13.
For the treatment of waste of different sizes, the angle of inclination of the inner tubes 12 and 13 is adjusted by moving them in the direction of rotation of the container 3, and the magnitude of this angle must be established each time. times in relation to the dimensions of the waste to be treated; this is very important so that the fall of,. lumps or blocks in rotation are always carried out before arriving at the position where the perforated ends 33 of the curved tubes 12 and 13 are located.
It should be noted that while loading the autoclave, a volume of approximately one fifth of its capacity should always be left empty. The orientation of the oval door 11 on the equator not only allows a greater height of the ends of the tubes 12 and 13, but it has the advantage of making the treatment operation much easier and therefore more '' shorten the times for unloading the waste at the end of treatment.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
It is obvious that the autoclave, at the edge of the oval borte 11./ could have a circular door with a bayonet applioable cover, of the type already known, with a circular sealing ring having a cross section. tapered.
Thanks to the autoclave thus perfected, it is possible to regenerate all the known types of waste from the vulcanized polymers, with the treatment more suitable for each type, either at low or high pressure, and either at low or high temperature. ; in addition to high dry temperatures; at low temperature with high air pressure and the same in dry as in humidity. If indirect steam is available, it is possible to carry out any :, treatment by means of steam, either wet or in saturation or dry, or superheated, obtaining a significant saving of time and calories.
In addition, thanks to this rotating autoclave, there is no need to plasticize or paste or subject the waste to another treatment, before introducing them into the autoolave; they are introduced into the autoclave in its natural state with the necessary ingredients and, during the rotation, their homogeneous mixture is obtained; this is not possible with static autoclaves, which require try preliminary treatments carried out by means of other machines.
In Figure 5 we see the support frame 1 carrying the two coaxial supports 2. to support the two shafts 17 with which the container 3 rotates, which on the outside is reopened by an insulating casing 18 to prevent the dispersion of heat . these Shafts 4 and 5 are hollow and tubes 8 and 9 pass through shafts; the arrows are used to indicate that the first tube 12 @ert for example

ple for the supply of fluids inside the autoclave through the holes 33., and that the tube 13. serves to evacuate these fluids. The tubes 12. and 13. are connected to the lower part, respectively with the tubes 8, and 9.
Also in this variant, the two tubes 12 - 13 have been shown curved, but a single tube could also be sufficient, curved or not, to serve either for the charge or for the discharge of the fluids.
Since the tubes 8 and 9 remain stationary and stationary during the rotary operation of the autoclave 3., the inclination of the end parts 12. and 13. having previously been adjusted, cable glands 20. are provided. on the outer sides of the two side tubes with closing rings 21.
The inner support 26. is simply a sealing ring formed by a different metal for the protection of the shaft 4. and serves to prevent leaks and to keep the internal pressure unaltered. * Pressure drops destroy the shaft. concentration of the vapor and they thus vary all the results * The tubes $ fixed 8. and 9. are also provided with a coaxial tubular part 31. of suitable diameter to create an annular chamber 32. which serves for insulation tubes over almost their entire length;
in these chambers 32. it is possible to introduce and keep circulating a cooling liquid, if this is necessary, through the holes 29. and 30. provided at the outer ends of these tubes 8 and 9.

The lubrication or greasing was carried out by means of two lubricating devices 27. and 28. sealed for the pressure, and which distribute the lubricant in the sealed gaskets 20. The adjustable coupling 34, makes it possible to modify the 'inclination of inner tubes 8-12 and! 9-13.
The casing 3 of the autoclave of FIG. 5 shows in cut the pso @@ on of the armored or armored electric resistances 36. which are fed by means of brushes sliding or crawling on a collector, to carry the load. envelope itself of the container 3.at the desired temperature according to the type of waste which, in the presence of a determined quantity of water in relation to its volume, creates a vapor environment, which together with the possible ingredients provides regenerate adequately. However, the steam could be delivered by external generators.
It is understood that in this case the steam must have the temperature and the pros- sion corresponding to the working requirements, to the ambient state inside the autoclave and to its void volume,
The rotation of the autoclave, the heating delivery, the temperature and pressure control are regulated by automatic controls of the predisposed frame and are controlled by the relative devices, such as for example manometers, pyrometers and similar *

is oval, with the larger diameter which lies in the posi- tion perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the autoclave, and it

is guided, for example, so that it fits in its own seat.
Looking at Figure 5., we notice that the ends 12 'and 13' of the tubes 12, and 13. are located very close to the upper part of the container
Thanks to the aforementioned characteristics, the autoclave object of the present invention is perfectly suitable for regenerating not only the waste in pieces, but also the powders or very small pieces, of any type of polymer known hitherto. it is also intended for washing and drying by passing through the fixed supply and discharge tubes respectively water and steam.
It is important to note that this autoclave does not need any condensation discharge devices.
