<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
D'une manière générale, le résultat oherohé est ob- tenu par la conformation spéciale de l'intérieur du bouchon pulvérisateur, dont la forme extérieure est indifférente; ce bouchon doit contenir une chambre intérieure dans laquelle peut coulisser la tutulure; oelle-oi possède des passages pé- riphériques pour l'air et un conduit pour la sortie du liqui- de ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Valve manifold for facilitating the admission of air applicable to atomizing bouohons for flexible bottles".
The present invention relates to an apétale tubing applicable to spray bouohons associated with a container with flexible walls; this tubing, at the same time that it has passages for the air and for the liquid which rises in the plunger tube extending the tubing in an oonnue manner, constitutes a regulating valve which makes it possible to increase the speed at which the tube enters. 'air necessary for the operation of the sprayer and which, if it is poor
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
only through the spray duct, does so slowly and painfully, especially when the walls of the flexible re-member are very thin and do not favor this reentry, or when the air reentry port is of particularly narrow section.
The novelty of the invention lies in the fact that a single piece contains the passages and conduits necessary for, on the one hand, to carry out the spraying and, on the other hand, to admit the quantity of air necessary so that immediately following compression the spraying is effective and rapid and is not hampered by a slow inflow of air through a narrow spray duct.
In general, the oherohé result is obtained by the special conformation of the interior of the spray cap, the exterior shape of which is indifferent; this stopper must contain an interior chamber in which the tutulure can slide; oelle-oi has peripheral passages for air and a conduit for the outlet of the liquid;
it is suitably guided so as to be able to effect a limited axial displacement such that, when pressing on the deformable walls of the bottle, the tubing, as a result of the upward force which the compressed air exerts against its base, is lifted and come to be applied against the inside of the boohon in order to operate as a normal sprayer, while when the compression starts and the inflow of air begins as a result of the vacuum prevailing inside the container, the aspiration which occurs, united to the own weight of the tubing, causes the part to return so that when the contact between it and its seat ceases,
an additional passage is formed for the air directed towards the interior of the reoipien which allows the air to enter more quickly.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
On the accompanying drawings, there is shown sohaematically and by way of nonlimiting example as to the shape and the dimension of the parts no more than that concerning the number and the arrangement of the channels or passages for the air. , a practical embodiment of a valve manifold intended to facilitate the re-entry of air, applied to a spray cap for a flexible bottle.
Figure 1 is an axial vertical section of the tube-valve inserted inside a stopper, and shows the parts in the air intake position corresponding to an absence of compression exerted on the walls of the flexible bottle. .
Figure 2 is a section similar to Figure 1, but shows the parts in the spray position, i.e. when, as a result of the compression of the walls of the flexible bottle, an internal overpressure occurs which applies the valve manifold against a seat in the interior of the plug.
With reference to the drawings. the characteristics of the invention will be better understood.
As shown in the drawing, a stopper 1, which is mounted on the neck of a flexible-walled flask not shown, is conventionally constituted by a cylindrical cap surmounted by a hollow cup 2 of smaller diameter. . Inside this cup is formed a frustoconical seat 3 extended by an axial duct ± in which part 1 of a valve manifold can move axially; oelle-oi protrudes through this duct out of the cup 2.
The valve manifold is formed by an enlarged base 2 joined by a frustoconical part 7 to the cylindrical portion 6; the latter has an axial duct of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
polygonal section, so that during the introduction of a dip tube 13 between this tube and the internal wall of the axial duct made in the cylindrical part, there remains in a known manner a certain number of passages for the air, through in which the air compressed during the compression of the walls of the flask mixes with the liquid which rises through the tube 13 in a chamber 14, from where the mixture is expelled in pulverized form through a duct 11 which has been shown emerging laterally but which could also be completely axial or non-linear at an angle queloonque.
The tubing described so far is constructed and functions as in known spray caps.
The essential novelty of the invention lies in the fact that this tubing is not adjusted and fixed with respect to the plug which contains it but can effect an axial displacement of limited amplitude on the one hand by a rapid ring. - carried 12 or by abutments made during the molding of the part 1, which prevents the ohute of the valve tubing 5 once it has been placed inside the cup 2, and on the other hand by the frustoconical part 1 of the section 2 which cooperates with the part .7 connecting the base .5 and the cylindrical part of the valve manifold.
It is also essential that between the oylin- dric part 6 and the axial duct ± which serves as a guide there are a certain number of passages 9 which can be obtained by vertical grooves traced on the part 6, by grooves. cres households in the conduit 4, or simply by the play between these parts resulting from the difference in their diameters; the atmospheric air sucked in from the expansion and resumption of their normal form by the walls of the flexible bottle can penetrate through these passages inside the bottle and this very quickly.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
So that the air flow according to the arrows of Figure 1 is not hampered by the base 2, it has been provided, at the periphery thereof or in the inner wall of the cup 2, a number of channels or passages 8, which in any case cannot be obstructed by the ring 12.
When the compression and deformation of the walls of the flexible bottle occur, the overpressure they cause results, as shown by the arrows in figure 2, by an upward force, which, by acting against the base 2 of the tubing -soupape lifts it and applies the truncated part 7 against the corresponding frustoconical part 3, which produces a sealing effect which prevents the escape of air through the passages existing between the axial duct 4, the cup?, and the cylindrical portion 6 of the tubing} the air therefore only finds an outlet through the passages 10 which surround the tube 13, so that the liquid rises and mixes with the air in the chamber 14 contiguous to the outlet duct 11 (FIG. 2).
When the compression ceases as a result of the suction which is exerted when the flexible walls of the bottle begin to return to their normal shape, the base 1 of the valve manifold separates from the seat 3, leaving a passage open for air, directly towards the inside of the bottle through the clearance .0 existing between the tubular part 6 and the axial duct 4.
When mounting the valve manifold inside the plug, and particularly when the outlet duct is not axial, appropriate position identification members will be available so that the spraying takes place in the desired direction,
It is understood that the nature of the materials of each of the parts and their dimensions,
their shapes
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
external sections and their internal sections may vary in practice without modifying the general principle which is the basis of the invention and which consists of the precision of a valve manifold which can be moved axially between two extreme positions @ in one of which it closes the air intake passages so that the tubing acts as a normal sprayer as long as the bottle is subjected to compression, and in the other of which are open these air intake passages, formed between the tubing -movable valve and the fixed stopper which serves as a housing and guide.
